It is alarming how many wannabe moderators appear on this ST forum.....lol

You can be sure I'll always call for free speech rather than moderation! You can also rest assured that I won't be making any grand, dramatic statements announcing my departure if I decide to leave the forum. I don't flatter myself that anyone gives a damn whether I go or stay on any forum.

Judge RInder is the British version of Judge Judy on some cable/satellite channels. People sue one another in a non legal programme. Judge Judy much better than Judge Rinder.

Sorry have to disagree lady Madonna. I have a weird crush on Judge Rinder.

I like Judge Judy, who is the original in this format, but I'm another fan of Judge Rinder. Love it when he suddenly bellows out TALKING when someone interrupts him.

He's got a good sense of humour, and his is more attuned to a UK audience. Just as UK humour often goes over American heads, I think US humour goes over ours. Whoever said that we are two nations divided by a common language had it right... (there are counterclaims for Oscar Wilde and George Bernard Shaw having originated it).

Did you know that Judge Judy is the highest paid person on US television? In 2013 she earned $47 million for 52 day work, which is $903,846 per day. It's thought to be more now. I think she's good - but not that good!

Who cares who what & when are chatting! Enjoy watching QVC but don't need to talk about it 24/7 :mysmilie_3:

How old is she now? I know the Supreme Court appoints judges for life... maybe US tv does too...

I see that she also has a programme where 3 judges rule, she is behind it but doesn't appear. Caught a bit on Friday but wasn't impressed. Love JJ

She's 74 this year. Husband also a judge. He's her second husband and they married, divorced and remarried - so I guess technically he's her second and third husband! She retired as a family court judge in 1996 and her TV series began the same year.

It's called "Hot Bench". I think it's awful, it seems very fake to me. Apparently Judge Judy saw a three judge trial in Ireland when she was on holiday and suggested it would make a good TV series. I think she just takes a big fat fee for "conceiving the concept". I rather like "The People's Court" which is very similar to Judge Judy but with Judge Marilyn Milian, a retired Florida State Circuit Court Judge. She's in her fifties but the series has been running 30 years.
