Perhaps the whole thread should now be deleted?????

Not sure about the thread being deleted, necessarily. But a thoroughly distasteful comment from the OP, like this one:

FYI Depplover "a person who uses flattery to win favour from individuals wielding influence; toady" but Kathy's definition is more succinct and much closer to my meaning. :mysmilie_61:
would have certainly deleted her name from any other forum's members list - no questions asked.

There is an ignore facility in the user cp, feel free to avail yourselves of it. (Not being glib, with that just in case it sounds that way)The moderator has asked for personal sniping to stop and I would imagine they will take action if it doesn't happen.
I have seen some stuff posted here lately that I found offensively vulgar particularly as this part of the board is public but that seems to be ok.

ETA One of the posts was edited so it mustn't have been ok after all

Awh, come on stratobuddy, play the game シ It has been an amusing thread ... most of the time.

Not for Julia of course. I had better make that clear.

Just out of interest, have Q abandoned the tweet thing since the Julia incident? Haven't watched much since it happened.

I woud have done exactly the same thing and, as you say, if more people didn't put up with bad service then shops would soon mend their ways. I was in the queue in a high street store waiting to pay for a t shirt and the girl behind the till was gabbing away to the person in front of me who was clearly a friend. When she finally go to me she completely ignored me and kept on talking to her friend so I let her ring the item in. She then held her hand out for the money, still talking to her friend and not looking at me or addressing me at all. So I simply said that I had changed my mind and walked out. Won't go in there again.

omg i know. i cant even TELL you about my experience in carphone warehouse the other saturday

...oh go on then i will!

so im after getting mummy burly a new sim card for her super simple, large button, no camera, no text, no frills, loud ring, mobile phone (she still cant work it btw) so i pop into CW Meadowhall to get one.
Numerous members of staff, i think they call them "warehouse geeks" hanging around chatting and looking bored. i approach one and tell him what i want.
"what network?"
"i dont know, whats good?"
"all the same really"
"no offers on then?"
"no"
"im on o2, if i get o2 will she get free calls to me?"
"no"
"right well i'll have o2 anyway if theyre all the same"
"i'll have to go in the back"

I'm on the point of walking when he finally turns up. I'm half expecting him to be wiping food off his mouth cos he had time to eat lunch while ive been waiting.
"this till here"
tap tap tap
"post code?"
"M1 $%&"
"rest of address?"
"what do you want my address for?"
"for the computer"
"well i dont want to give it just to buy my mum a sim card, can you bypass that bit?"
"no"
"ok so why dont you put YOUR address in"
"thats not allowed"
"so you wont sell me this sim card without my full address? why?"
"system wants it"

i just turned round and FLOUNCED out of the CW shop and next door into Orange where a lovely girl sold me a sim card with no hard questions apart from "what animal". when she saw my face she said "ill put you on dolphin" - i'm, still wondering what that means.

no wonder i do most of my shopping on line.

Good for you BB. As I posted previously if we all took decisive action such as this, management would have to take notice.

Carphone Warehouse are terrible for flogging on your details to 3rd party companies. I renewed my iPhone contract with O2 via CW a couple of years ago. A week later the calls started from various companies. These 3rd party companies also seem to get details about when your contract is up for renewal because around that time the calls started up again, telling me my contract was up for renewal. They weren't from O2 although some of them surreptitiously implied they were calling on behalf of O2. So I don't trust CW one iota when it comes to personal details, and I expect they wanted your address details to flog on to 3rd party companies who in turn would try flog you insurance/ phone contracts/ payday loans etc

Hats off to Julia, fair play.
She's inviting people to tweet her & as janie has said, specs on!
