Jill Franks how rude

I all I hear when I watch her is a cash register sound coming out of her mouth ...kerching ! ...and pound signs in her eyes ....

It is rude to tell everyone watching the programme on the tv that your friend's t lights were, in her opinion, no good. She told her through the tv from what she said, not to her face.

Obvciously ifd you are good enough friends you can recommend things to each other but I presume you would not wait until you were on tv and then announce your friend's t-lights were no good and tell her "...hope she is watching, these are for you."

She's not noted for her sensitivity. Once a T-caller was telling her that they had cancer and she said: "Oh that's great!" (not listening properly - I don't think she meant it, but it was still inappropriate.)

Totally shows on automatic pilot lol :mysmilie_43:

I switched on the other day and Jill was presenting some jewellery show, she was telling everyone about her hour in the kitchen....she said it was hilarious as at home the kitchen is a place to walk through. I can't be bothered with her.... she seem to forget that while at QVC she is just a sales person.

She finds a lot of things "hilarious". If they're paid presenters, they should be able to present anything so at least have some knowledge of the area of sales, or research it if they don't know anything about it, unless they're specialists in whatever. I'd hope my friends would be able to tell me to my face that they hated my tealights/whatever, and not go broadcasting it to all and sundry at the same time as I found out - or even worse, if I wasn't watching at the time, before I found out.

If this dinner party took place and there were a set of sub standard tea lights is it really that important in the grand scheme of things. Maybe the friend was delighted to be advised of some superior ones or maybe the whole scenario was made up for the sake of flogging a few tea lights. I take no notice of the clap trap that comes out of presenters mouths it's usually waffle and rubbish.

Some people are very spoilt ..l. Am not saying I don't have nice things etc ...lore money now than when younger but I still like to cook etc and clean ....good excersise to clean anyway lol....but what annoys me is when the women on TV ....Lorraine Kelly and Melanie Sykes for example ....stand watching the men cook ....I finding really irritating ....help them for goodness sake .....they look like spare parts lol.....l.lorraine always says how she can't cook etc ..llinexcusable when you have children .l..I know a young girl who said her mother has never cooked her a meal when I think is outrageous .llland when her mum was 50 even though she is not espeacially overweight ...she had a heart attach and the young girl said she thinks it's because they have always eaten junk ..so for health reasons I think it's great to learn to cook .....you know what's going to to the pit for a start and can make healthier versions ...li don't mean these over complicated versions either ..net mums has some great recipies ....and even on Lorraine's programme I learned how to a great spat Bol which I have used for at least 5 years now ..... People who are supposedly health nuts should know that cooking from scratch is a great way to stay healthy ...Jill?

I don't think Jill has any self awareness and is happy to carry spouting what ever comes into her head. She must eat out a lot or maybe her OH cooks so she has no need to bother. Some women and men just don't like cooking. As for Mel Sykes she can cook and did quite a lot of cooking when she was in the jungle but Gino is the chef on the show she presents on telly so she can't suddenly take over and the same for Lorraine when she stands watching the professional chefs on the show.

I find it irritating .....I don't like cooking believe me lol.....and I don't like presenters who stand there and watch lol .....that's just me .....Lorraine always says she can't cook etc ....and I think I just don't like Mel ....but that's me

I don't imagine that there are many of us who wouldn't mind someone to take the drudgery of slapping down meals 7 days a week but I get annoyed at people who simper that they don't cook with an unsaid underlying sneer that they don't HAVE to unlike the rest of us plebs

Jackie Kabler doesn't cook either. As much as I like her, I can't help but think both her and Jill are very spoilt. I don't think it's anything to boast about personally. I find it quite immature when I hear women declare "I don't cook". As young women, we were brought up to cook for our men, who were more often than not the breadwinners. Thankfully, more and more men cook now and enjoy it. However, I think everyone, man or woman, should be able to look after themselves in the kitchen - even if they can't produce culinary delights fit for a dinner party.

I so agree MK, and that applies to all chores. There is nothing worse than a man/woman who can't do the basics even if it is only in an emergency.

In our house we share most chores with me doing most of cooking but Mr L wouldn't starve if I wasn't about as long as he had access to Delia!

My son's at Uni and I wanted to be sure that he could fend for himself. I sigh to myself when the Mother-out-law seems to think this is a huge achievement for him but less so from my daughter. :taphead: My Dad did most of the cooking in our house when I was growing up because they both had careers and he enjoyed doing it whereas Mum didn't.

I used to enjoy cooking before I had a family but catering for a family kind of took the fun out of it for me. So I'd say I can cook but don't enjoy it. :mysmilie_46:

Mr L often does the weekend shop alone and if we do it together more often than not he does the packing and unpacking which most females consider a minor miracle - why? He eats it as well and as I am prone to announce "I wasn't born with an iron (or whatever) in my hand" so if I had to learn to do chores why shouldn't he.

MIL would never have asked him to lift a finger so was amazed that he was so willing to do his full share (young love is a wonderful thing:mysmilie_12:)

Jill does talk absolute drivel at times. My very favourite of all time was when she told Lulu Guinness "you're not worthy" instead of "we're not worthy" (of Lulu's presence or lovely goods I guess LOL). Lulu didn't say anything but gave her one of those "why are you so stupid" looks. Fantastic :mysmilie_17:

Mr MK is an amazing cook. He cooks on a Saturday night, whenever we have guests and if we ever do a Sunday roast. I do most of the mundane week-night cooking, except when we're both back into training, he gets his own dinner as he finishes work later than me and therefore goes to the gym later.

As for housework - he has the life of Riley there I'm afraid. It's partly my own fault. I like doing it and if I wasn't doing it I don't know what I'd be doing, as I can't sit around watching tv! Also, I grew up in a very traditional household where my mum did everything and dad worked all the hours he could, mostly abroad until we were in our teens. I do remember him cooking once for me and my older sister when mum was in hospital having just given birth to my younger sister. We thought it was hilarious but he actually turned out to be very good at it!!

I do sometimes have a small moan that I have to do all the housework, but between you and me, I wouldn't have it any other way!! ;-)
