JF never made a cake?

Here in Scotland they do, they call it Home Economics and have done for over 30 years.

I'm from Scotland too and we endured Home Economics when I was at high school in the 1980s. However, although I hate cooking, baking, chopping, marinating etc, I have 2 children so have to 'cook' otherwise they would starve. They don't get cordon bleu (showing my age now!) cuisine but I am able to feed them nutritious fare and neither has complained that much although there's always x body's mum who makes fabulous carrot cake or lovely homemade lemonade (that I don't) but I can live with that!
