Anyone see Jeff spilling the beans last night?

He said "I'm going to be very candid with you all. There are some things I'm just not allowed to bring to you. We ask for them - but we're told we can't have them on this show. There are certain items that we can only sell if they're on with Dave Troth or Toby Cavill".

He said "I used to be able to bring you Jade shows, but these days, I'm not allowed. I can only do Jade shows with Dave Troth - and he's not been on at this time for about 4 years now. He has to sleep sometime, so he no longer comes on this late".

This made me suspect that someone on this forum was right a while ago that Dave Troth and the Cavills 'rent' airtime to flog stones that they've sourced - with Gemporia probably getting a nice cut from each sale. Maybe this explains why things are FAR too expensive - to cover the overheads of those hours and 'splits' of the profits?

To the best of my knowledge, Debbie Cavill doesn't work for Gemporia - so I would imagine that the only reason she gets to go on TV selling the 'Cavill & Co' range is because she buys airtime too?

IF this is the case, it's a win-win for everyone I guess - the 'guests' get to flog their stuff, and Gemporia get to fill airtime without needing to have their own stock for those shows.

It probably also explains the reason for Troth constantly being on-air, despite all the complaints online about him always being on, being boring, etc.

Maybe Jeff said what he said coz he didn't think many people would be 'listening', due to the hour?

And if DT rents air time, he must be either loaded, or deep in debt. You can't tell me, he can rent the slot, sell 'all of it' and make a profit, as well as giving them a cut too.

Someone that claimed to be an ex Gemporia employee once claimed on this forum that Troth is buying some of his stones for as little as £2 each. We've all seen the prices he's flogging his overpriced wares for on screen.

You don't need to shift much with those kind of profit margins to pay for airtime, etc.

Some of the carvings he's flogged for hundreds, people from this forum have found IDENTICAL carvings elsewhere for £10-£20.

I think Dave is just a partner that Steve allows to indulge in crap like jadeshite quartzite etc, because he is also the agent/buyer of wholesale gems for Gemporia. Steve is getting older and has a tonne of kids at home as well as his health business, and can’t be in China, India etc hustling snd trading gems. Jake only goes where he needs to and is too busy with the operations of the business. There is a stockpile of jade on the website that can’t sell so Steve will put a foot down at some point and it will either go on the wheel or get offloaded somewhere else. https://www.gemporia.com/en-gb/jadeite/?page=2

Troth doesn’t have the deep pockets to rent air time and is on a salary and partner dividends. His sales for pink diamonds, Zambian emeralds and other rare stones is where he turns more profit for Gemporia. I’m sure Debbie, Cherry and Toby as a well known gem family institution are considered assets to the company and Debbie is invited to showcase as an alternative to Gemporia creating and holding Lorique inventory. She probably supplies the private collection that doesn’t get air time. She doesn’t need Gemporia as much as they need her. Dave needs Gemporia and he needs less air time. The reason he doesn’t want to discount his bland asiatic crap is because he wants to consider it prestige. It’s marketing- the high end companies don’t discount which creates an image of prestige. The joke is on the buyers. The way he interrupts presenters mid sentence shows his arrogance and it is disgusting. I won’t buy from a weedy crunt.

But the Jadeite isn't Gemporia's to sell. The vast majority of it belongs to David Harry Jewels - a separate business owned by Troth and, if my memory serves me correctly, Hannah Thompson (Jakes wife).

There is a small amount of Jade in some of the Gemporia collections, which was likely sourced years ago, back when Jadeite was very rarely on screen.

The rest is all solely from the David Harry Jewels collection.

The stuff in the clearance is Gemporia's. None of the David Harry Jewels range stuff is in the clearance, and I'm fairly sure a few people have said on here that the David Harry Jewels range isn't on the Gemporia website at all.

See the link in my post above for the stuff he regularly flogs, so apart from the £10k carvings and a handful of pendants, the jade is from jessica lili / Annabella Gemporia brands

I noticed at the end oh Jeff’s show tonight he said something similar, someone had written in asking for something specific but he again explained that he’d asked for certain items and he’d been told no and that was all he could say. Quite interesting.

I can see how it can be frustrating and tiring doing 4 lots of clearance wheels a night for three nights. Lots of planning, too as each wheel can have up to 40 things. The night viewers are a different bunch to the day time, and can be international due to the timezone (lots from USA). Jeff is just listening to the people who want him to showcase collections to night time viewers who like a mix of bargains, too.
