I didn't but know what you mean. Sample images attached from their current stock online of their platinum or 18K range. All have black inclusions, which may be smaller in some than others but you can't "unsee" them.

Not an emerald specialist but I think that there's some truth to the claim that an emerald's "jardin" is part of its charm. However, I wouldn't want to spend four figures on these, however competitively priced. I have a comparatively small 2ct Zambian in 18K from The Outlet that has no black in it. You can get large eye clean emeralds with what the GIA classifies as "insignificant" clarity enhancement but for eye-watering costs and certainly not from Gemporia. You can also get GIA-certified "moderate" enhanced 5ct emeralds set into jewellery for around $8,000.

So I'd probably say that these are expensive at £3500.

Another example of Gemporia's latest trend of thinking that big carat weight = Lorique or high-end stone.

I think those Emerald's are ugly personally (I think Rubies and Emeralds are massively overrated as stones anyway - I'd far rather have a nice Garnet over a Ruby and a Diopside or Tourmaline over an Emerald).

I've never thought much of the quality of Gemporia's emeralds anyway. Even the 'Minas Gerais' and 'Panshir' Emeralds that Jake hyped up as being their best they'd ever had, were average at best in my opinion.

The only Emeralds they've had that I thought looked really nice were the Ethiopian Emeralds. Really clean. Really strong colour. The prices for the first batch they had were really good too considering the quality of the stones. They hiked the price massively though on the 2nd batch they had in.

All of these except the one on the lower left make me drool. I just love emeralds.i got a 3.5ct from them for £550 and i’m happy with it. Not the Cartier we dream of but you can see it’s a nice quality emerald. Etheopian were cheap initially but light like the colombians of late. The Afghanistan ones looked mike kryptonite! I like Zambian and Brazilian best.

Someone messaged DT while he was on air to say that her heart was pounding off her chest as she prepared to buy a jade bangle. Is this normal?
It's a bit over the top. Oooooo, I'm having a funny turn coz I'm buying a bit of rock.

It still amazes me how a torch helps sell things.

:p

Are they serious? A £399 item and someone is buying six??

They get some bizarre messages when DT is on - usually fawning, in a very OTT manner, over whatever he's flogging. They always seem to say "sent 10 seconds ago" or other similar, extremely quick time too.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence though............

To be fair, I bought two pieces of Troth's bird s**t grey Jadeite once.

I dangled one from Portland Bill, took a photo, put it on eBay, and I got four times what I paid for it.

When I sell the second one, I'm going to go one further by dangling it from Eddystone Lighthouse. I'm hoping to get six times what I paid for it on that occasion.

Of course it is.

And today Kimbie overload. Even Toby will be selling Kimbie at 7pm

Yeah it's on a lot this week because it's the one year 'birthday' of Kimbie.

Unlike Jade, which has been flooding our screens for about 4 years. Pearls seem to be the new Jadeite too. No doubt we'll be seeing those forever more too.

It just shows that you have to take what Gemporia say with a pinch of salt. Charlie Barron claimed that he was going because Pearls were becoming harder and harder to obtain - and yet since he's gone, Gemporia seem to have more pearls than ever before.

Cheaper freshwater that take less time to grow and have no place as luxury items. They probably didn’t take the same production hit that sea pearls did during Covid. Gemporia are flogging them as a gap filler at high prices.

They will have big trouble with Akoya which are sea/ considered luxury. Vietnam produces a significant proportion of those now as there is a disease impacting production in Japan, and apparently the nuclear reactor leak post earthquake/tsunami a few years back had an impact on production.

I want far less Dave and his Jade, more Toby and more consistency.

I use Kimbie to pad out my jewelry orders with cheap wax melts etc so the box isn’t so small as to get lost/ squashed. I don’t mind their stuff. Probably Tesco grade. Lighter fragrance compared to high end. The shows are draining though. 1hour on candles is too much, especially when they go for the same price.

Freshwater pearls are as CZ is to diamonds. Pure costume jewellery - and I'm not knocking costume jewellery one bit - but for Gem Collector to ask £350 for a single mass-produced coloured pearl with indeterminate seed size is outrageous. Gemporia keeps referring to Charlie Barron and then selling ropes and ropes of the things, dyed, coated or "naturally coloured". I'd be pretty miffed!

I did notice, particularly as CB doesn’t dabble in freshwater. Wonder if he will ever be back.

They have 8-10mm remnants of South Sea stock online which is priced well, but light on gold or in sterling silver.
