Despite some thorough research it's still unclear what category or even year he was nominated but it's rumoured he came a very respectable third to Duncan Norvelle and the great Bernie Clifton.

Momma were you aware that Mike Mason appeared as a child on the 1970's ATV Talent show 'New Faces'?

Sadly it didn't go well. His act of guessing what Amp a selection of fuses were blindfolded didn't impress the judges but it did set him on the road to a successful career as an electrician.
