Well i guess then you won't be watching QVC at 3.00 to see what Pipa's new hairstyle is. Your afternoons all planned.
But to be fair, i did hear Catherine mention she was spending Valentine's Day alone, i know, i realise i should have posted
it when i heard it, but i forgot my duty to other members, (hangs head in shame)

another toast and vote of appreciation to the talented & memorable Burlz, always felt he is a real asset to this forum
he has crafted giving voice to your inner bitch into a satirical and therapeutical art form, when some of us lesser mortals can only whinge and moan
i hereby nominate Burlz for Shopping Telly's Hilary Mantel prize, as you can replace her take on royal bodies viewed through the eyes of the media,
with celebrities viewed through the eyes of media and anyone else who looks and make judgements - for better or worse, richer or poorer, this where we are at in our Brave New World today !
the most poignant part of Mantel lecture for me was this :
'Our current royal family doesn’t have the difficulties in breeding that pandas do, but pandas and royal persons alike are expensive to conserve and ill-adapted to any modern environment. But aren’t they interesting? Aren’t they nice to look at? Some people find them endearing; some pity them for their precarious situation; everybody stares at them, and however airy the enclosure they inhabit, it’s still a cage.'
p.s. i don't mind Catherine and i'd say good on her, if she can take some of the judgements being made on the chin, and well done to her for laughing off the pregnancy thing, atta girl

She looked like an explosion in a paint factory with Laura Geller last nite. Almost needed sunglasses with the hair & lippy fighting for attention as well lol! (That's the lippy that once we'd all seen it on her we'd have to have it so buy now before it sells out I think was the message). :mysmilie_12: She's hardly an iconic beauty is she. Looks good for her age agreed but so do a lot of people.

I think she was at her best with the very long blonde extensions. Uber glam. Oh i know i may have crisised at the time but she looked way hot. The red (if thats what it is) is striking but I don't think it suits her particularly, and with the LD fake tan yesterday just looked odd.
She went up in my estimation a few weeks ago when I tweeted into Q (not her) with the answer to something she was racking her brain to remember. Some hours later she tweeted me back saying "thanks burly" with a litte wink. I got a little thrill that the way she'd addressed me suggested good humour and even a possible knowledge of my existence. Yes, I know. I'm weak. Pretty TV presenter addresses me directly and I metaphorically roll over for my tummy to be tickled. Pathetic.
Compare and contrast however with Miss Julia Roberts. I sent her a very complimentary tweet around the same time. She read part of it on air but I'm sure I detected an air of disapproval when she saw the senders name, she almost stiffened visibly AND she didnt read out my name. It was almost like "well thanks for the compliment but you're one of that lot on ST.com aren't you". Christ Julia, lighten up love.
All of the above is complete speculation of course, but I DO believe that some of them are much more in tune to our presence, read the forum and have a better sense of humour about it than others. Catherine and Julian, possibly even Charlie are, i think, up for it. Julia, Dale, Sutton... No chance.
Fair play to Catherine then Burlz, :wink::sun:. Just remember tho' Queen Julia isn't used to cyber socialising with us mere common folk, like you said, tis only proper for her to be in a castle counting her money x.

I also think they wouldn't be human if sometimes the individual presenters didn't have an occasional guilty chuckle at some of what gets said here about the others. I mean you can't like everyone and you can't like people all the time. So you can't bitch about the person who has annoyed you but you can read others doing that here. :rock:

I dont like Catherine as a presenter but i have to hand it to her -at least she isnt stuck in a style rut like so many of the other presenters. She isnt afraid to experiment but doesnt always get it right. Although i have to disagree with you BB - the long blond extensions looked ridiculous. They still pop up from time to time on the beauty channel.

not surprised BB is complimentary to CH. Having met her at the beauty bash I cannot fault her on her stamina in mingling, chatting to every weirdo who crossed her path (incuding me!) She was friendly and polite and as someone who is 40 next month she is around my age so I can relate to her. If I could be arsed with twitter I would follow her.

No doubt she is attractive. I have met her and she still to me, comes across as insincere. It's almost as though she needs every one to love her and like her. I also get the impression she has to be centre of attention. She preens all the time. So like I said very attractive looking woman but not a fan!
I dont want to get the claws out but i found it rather satisfying to have seen her on a YBF show without makeup and would describe her in flattering terms as plain!

Well got to whip Mr RD (and still managed to stop at 3pm to see Pipa's hair :nod: ) and whilst I've just unchained him from the front room chandelier,and hes popped into my guest cloakroom for a wash and brush up to hide the wounds to go to work,hes managed to shout at me (from behind a locked door) that he doesn't give a *flying f@@k" about CH and her goings on in her bedroom department.

And I insist we do give a flying f@@k.
So I've sent him off to work with some very uncomfortable and sweaty PVC knickers on and I expect some information in the morning.
Sadly whilst reversing out the drive,hes just admit that actually *thinking about it,shes not been mentioned for a while*.
So CH has another one bitten the dust? Has another one *gotten away*
