The demands of selly telly are such that it's going to attract a certain type of person: bombastic, self-important, confident to the point of arrogant and constantly monitoring their image and 'brand' in order to further their own fame. They are also motivated solely by money, despite the protestations that the various pots of grease they sell are 'life changers'.

These characteristics are not ones I'd personally seek out in a friend so I suspect that they're as revolting off screen as on. Plus they'd be awful company because they'd be too busy talking about themselves ad infinitum to show any interest in anything/anyone else.

I wouldn't seek any out as real friends either. Never understand why some of these Facebookers call them their friends and best friends, do I live on a different planet? Do you know anyone out there who has done this. Nobody I know has ever met mates on social media, real world only! :mysmilie_59:

facebook is a selling tool like most media. keep the group members happy and they will buy as its like being part of a family. qvc buy into this so much so they charge a big premium

Living in London you do infrequently spot/walk past the occassional face off the telly. Its no big deal and to be honest I probably walk past about 90% of them without even recognising them.

I went in to a coffee shop in Bluewater one time and the Abc guest with the dark hair was sitting enjoying a latte, very striking lady, even more attractive in real life than she appears on the small screen. Very kind face we exchanched glances and though I had no reason to talk to her I feel she could tell I recognised her. My friend (a non qvc viewer) later went to the loo and came back saying what a nice lady she was chatting too, I asked her to describe the lady and yep it was her.

I also saw Debbie Flint in Westfield with I think her two sisters, laden down with about 20 bags between them, so she certainly wasn't doing her Christmas shopping on QVC that year. All I could think was how tiny (height wise) she was!
