The event takes place on Sunday the 24th of May from 2pm and everyone is welcome.

Speaking to shoppingtelly.com, Derek said “it’s been such an honour being involved in this event for the last five years or so. Hopefully the sun will shine down on us, and everyone will have a great time. Line Dancers of all ages and experiences come and enjoy the day. I get lost in a sea of talent with a microphone in my hand so that everyone stopped in their tracks on Lord Street knows exactly what all the excitement is about. I’d like to boost this years’ total for the charity as a whole, so I’ve set up www.justgiving.com/derekmarks for people to be able to donate online. I’d love as many of your readers to come along and enjoy the day in beautiful Southport, but if you can’t make it then you would make my day by sparing whatever you can to a cause that is very dear to my heart, and sadly touches too many of our lives today. Anyone that has watched me over the years will know that when I believe in something, it will always get 100% commitment from me – and this year, everyone can be a part of making it extra special”

Derek also added “Graham, can I also take this opportunity to thank literally hundreds of people for their insightful and heartfelt messages through your forums, my facebook pages, Twitter and e-mail in the past few months. I hope to be back on your screens somewhere in the coming months, and am working on a couple of ideas that I hope your readers can be part of too – but I have to knuckle down in this beautiful sunshine and get the ideas together.”
