Having seen the thread about cooks essential pans I thought I would share my dilemma with you.
I have some cooks essentials saucepans brought 5 or 6 years ago and have used them every day as you do when cooking for a family.
But and it is a big BUT the non stick has lost its non sticky ness and now they have ALL started sticking it doesn't matter what I am cooking it sticks .
I only use an induction hob which gives you great temperature control so I know I am not using to higher heat.
Do you think that I could get them replaced under the life time guarantee?
I no longer have a QVC account and haven't brought from them in nearly 2 years.
I don't want to ring customer services and look like a right ninny over it but how long is a life time with a saucepan?

I would expect a good set of pans to last at least 10 years even with heavy use. I have had pans last 20+ years with light to medium use and I when I changed my hob to induction I gave them away as they were still in good condition.

If you used a lot of metal utensils then the pans will last for a lot less time. I know that QVC say you can use metal due to the ridges and "special coating" but this will just defer any wear, not stop it

Give Customer Services a call you have nothing to lose.

Lifetime means your lifetime!

You are most likely to get a refund and not a replacement as they probably won't have the ones you got anymore.

About the same life span as a "bag for life" as my local supermarket love to call them. How ****** stupid.Don't bother looking for any rational explanation. It's a marketing phrase that doesn't hold up under any real scrutiny, like 99 per cent of the marketing phrases used in modern advertising.IN iother words it's BS.

Why don't you email them Madmax?

I do this if its about a problem so I have it writing. I'm still on the old website and just go to "Contact us" at the bottom of the Home page?

I exchanged a CE pan after a couple of years. I got the money back and bought the updated version in a colour to match my new kitchen

They'll have to send you your order archive, i.e all the stuff you ever bought (prepare to be shocked!) and then you'll have to write in with the order number, item number, date etc. it's a bit of a performance but ring them for the archive... If you can be bothered to go through the proceure you'll get the ££ back i reckon.

One time when they wouldn't exchange a pan for me was when the knob fell off . They said lids weren't included in the guarantee but nowadays I think they are.

Good luck!

Burly is right. I complained once about a set of northern night sheets, and lol and behold the sent me a list of everything i"d ever bought, to check and find the item. And it was very scarey seeing how much i"d spent. Never told anyone how much it was, too shocking. But they always stress a lifetime , when selling , so to me its "for ever". Good luck

A quick google suggests a good outcome if you contact CS about your pans, although as Sazza pointed out, it is perhaps unlikely that they will be able to furnish you with an exact match replacement & it was this point that some people, rather unrealistically after a number of years I feel, found unsatisfactory when trying to get their pan(s) replaced.

It is usually a good idea however to look a little deeper into lifetime guarantee claims, as these days it frequently refers not to the purchaser's lifetime but the expected lifetime of the item & this is usually buried somewhere in the T&Cs of such claims, along with what is & isn't covered by said guarantee, e.g. items may only in fact be covered for manufacturing defects, or in the case of pots & pans, may exclude lids/knobs/handles etc.

Such warranties are offered as many (most?) people simply do not bother to claim after a number of years has passed, being either too embarrassed to do so, can't be bothered, or just feel it's a good time for a pan set upgrade anyway! (I'm guilty of this, chucking away trashed ScanPans & such because I simply couldn't be ar$ed to chase them up on it....!)

I have never yet found a non-stick pan at any price that actually stays non-stick for any length of time but if I liked the look of the pans from C.E. & QVC were prepared to uphold their lifetime guarantee wholly & unequivocally, I don't see how you can go wrong with them really! lol

I love the pans but mine have started to deteriorate! I contacted CS and they have offered a refund and collection as my set is no longer available. Am keen to see what price the set is in the tsv coming up. CS were excellent and got back to me very quickly.

I also had some CE pans that lost the non-stick after about 3-4 years and contacted QVC who just as above sent me a big list of all of my orders to go through to find the number and then sent a refund as no longer made the same ones. I bought some more CE pans but these have also lost the non-stick (I only ever use non-metal utensils despite QVC saying OK to do so). I am now wondering if I should contact QVC again to get further refund - however I don't think I would buy them again as "lifetime" doesn't really seem realistic. My mum bought some much cheaper pans with only a 10y guarantee which are a much better buy.

I returned some Tefal pans to QVC as the lid on one of the saucepans had come apart, meaning that it wouldn't vent, and they had a lifetime guarantee. They were about 4 years old at the time & cost me over £90. There were a few e-mails back and forth but I got my money back even though they no longer sold Tefal. When I first e-mailed, I enclosed a photo of the faulty saucepan, so I would advise perhaps doing that. You should get your money back. Good luck!

You'll be required to and the faulty set back of course, they should provide you with a label. I think mine still had scrambled egg in it....

Contact CS. They were great and there was no quibble. They searched and sent me an email with a pic of the pans I had purchased. Its hassle free to be honest!

Thanks I will wait until Monday morning and then phone customer service to see what they have to say.
If they don't want people returning pans after 3 or 4 years then they should stop going on and on and on about the lifetime guarantee.
I will let you know how I get on. If I get my money back the big decision then is do I or do I not buy another set of cooks essentials??

If i was you , i"d try cooks essential "ultra" range they"re the newest, and keep the receipt. I got the
Green pans from QVC and they are great, after about two years. iI cant fry an egg without oil, like they
do, it doesnt fly off my pan, but nothing has stuck to them at all after alll this time and useage. You
cant use in dishwasher, and even when ive done scrambled eggs they clean like new . Or as i say the
new ultra range is the newest kid on the block, and at least youve got the guarantee, you dont get
that in the shops . Let us know how you get on

Madmax, listening to the show tonight, they were showing a set of pans, and quoted the
lifetime guarantee, and apparently its even 20 years, according to Julian,, the t shirt
specialist, my joke, and Simon the demonstrator. So you have a case. Let us know
