Has anyone tried these lock'n'locks?

I haven't tried these ones as I find round containers less space saving than rectangular ones.

Also, I wouldn't microwave in the Lock & Locks as they do stain if the product contains tomatoes or turmeric etc.

What do you want to specifically use them for? We may have a different suggestion.

I think these will take up quite a lot of cupboard space as the handles make them awkward to store. My most used lock and lock are three bowls with lids that fit inside each other like a 'Russian doll'.

You can't need any more plastic boxes Strato.

But I don't have any airtight bowls.

I use ordinary bowls quite a lot.

They seem a reasonable price at £3 each (before the dreaded PP).

I need to compare the sizes with the bowls I use now, and if suitable, try to get them eleswhere, perhaps even on the dreaded high street eg Lawsons.

Thank you for that Strato....I am using the pound shop ones for my porridge and storing my fruit at room temperature ..( grapes mostly ) ...had one split ...but other than that brilliant ...I know not the quality but suits my budget at the moment :mysmilie_13:

But WHY do you need airtight bowls?

For storage the shape isn't that important - but angles are easier to store together than curves.

If you are planning to cook in them and then eat straight from them then I don't think you'll be happy with their longevity. They will discolour and may eventually get scraped by the cutlery.

I just store leftovers in square / rectangular boxes and then transfer them to a bowl or pan to cook and eat.

If you really, really want bowl then Amazon has a nesting set:

I generally prefer Pyrex, particularly microwaving, as they don't stain and are harder to damage. You can get them with lids but I don't know that they would be airtight. They're also not cheap but you can find bargains from time to time.

Also, I don't know if these would be of interest (glass again) - they don't have handles if that attracted you in the case of the Lock 'n' Lock ones.

I have lock and locks and use them every day, they may be more expensive than other 'plastic boxes' but the hinges are I feel more robust. I did though purchase individual ones from the 'river website', so that I could get the sizes I wanted rather than a 'random mix' that Q put together, whilst this may have worked out slightly more expensive at least they were sizes that I wanted, rather than having to have 'make do' sizes.
