**This will be my only post, as I am not going to get into a debate over this**
I can confirm that there is more than meets the eye.
I have no affiliation with "Insider". I do not know who they are. However, they are correct, and I am alse an insider in the shopping telly world. **edit. I see my name is 'Insider', but I put my isername as 'Insider 2'.
Alex said "it's not fair for us to come on live, then go to a tape, then live etc."
Then apparently the cameras weren't working. Well, there's no risk from that issue of going live, then tape, live etc as he makes out. There is more to it which you'll find out.
I'm surprised at how many people on here are believing Alex just as he's been open and honest on here for a week. Alex is a lovely guy, but much more is going on behind the scenes.
Would Alex say to us the channel is under threat? No, as it would stop people from purchasing from them if they are likely to go into administration. Remember bid tv? Selling quantities of 200+ and down to about 10 overnight once details of their CVA was in the news?
Alex needs to post, as he has been on here frequently from day 1, and would be suspicious if he just went. He's also trying to stop these rumours.
The fact is, the channel has been making next to no money. What is the daily cost of: presenters, camera crew, lighting, sound, producer, director etc? That's before bills etc. I'll let you know. For 12 hours live tv, it's over £2k minimum. When selling quantities of as little as zero each hour, it's easy to see the figures don't add up. Simon isn't rolling in money. He isn't a multi million pound investor. It seems that he was very nieve, very surprising after working in shopping tv for years. He probably got blindsided by seeing IW1 making £20-30k per hour show.
They are playing repeats to mitigate these costs. They are hoping that by playing repeats, they channel will become more known (without as many expenses) and hoping to go back live when sales pick up.
This isn't very good when the presenters constantly say to WhatsApp. People who think it's live may WhatsApp and think they're being ignored. Is there a reason they don't say it's a repeat? Yes. Those shows attract less viewers.
Personally, I saw it failing from day 1. You've cut off a large part of the market with no phone number to place an order. Yes, there's a cost there with call centre staff, but sales will be minimal without. Why watch shopping tv and then have to go online to order? It's like saying you want to order a takeaway to be delivered, but they have no driver.
The viewers who can purchase online are likely to go on Google and then see the other shops selling the item. I'm sure there'll be one supplier cheaper they can go to.
It's a shame, but it was never going to work.
