I've just received the Cristmas goodies I ordered in November. Held up in Customs, it seems. They are all Mr Kipling pies - mince, fruit, Bakewell and iced fancies. Is anyone familiar with Mr Kipling pies and how they compare to the sweet pies sold on QVC? I wonder because these pies are very small. They taste nice, but each one is just two ir three bites. They weren't cheap, either. On TV, the Welsh pies look huge.

Oh no! Hope the sell by dates were good. My kids love Mr Kiplings fancies and Viennese whirls, reminders of their childhood. I personally don't eat them, prefer a lemon drizzle! Hope you enjoyed them. I think everything has shrunk in size lately (apart from our bills) , Mars bars are tiny these days.

Mr Kipling is a staple brand in UK supermarkets. Individual cakes/pies are quite small.

I remember seeing a picture of the size difference between a Mr Kipling apple pie ten years ago and now. No pie should be gone in two bites. Wilfred's Pies are actually very nice and substantial. I know that they are not the cheapest option but you are getting something that is not child sized.

The Mr Kipling products of my childhood is not the Mr Kipling we get today.

I wish I could replicate the apple filling, though. I've tried following the ingredients list as closely as possible but I can't get it right.

Does anyone remember Lyons apple pies? They were bigger than Kipling, almost side plate sized.

They are very small imo and expensive for what they are. I've only bought savoury pies from QVC which I was not impressed with, needless to say have never bought them again.
