Just watching Philosophy lady doing the annoying sponge squidging/foaming thing - just what is this supposed to show us then?
I could go into my bathroom/kitchen/toilet probably & find, ooh I dunno, 10 products I could get to foam up like that, e.g. soap, washing-up liquid, toilet cleaner most likely!
Could this be a rival to 'pillow plumping/stroking' for the 'most annoying & utterly pointless QVC guest activity' award?

Sorry to disappoint Julie......yeah, yeah, I know......epic fail! :34:

(It was driving me mad though.....squeeze, foam, squeeze, more foam.....! Arrgghh!) :52:

Lots of people on QVC do it. Lee used to do it, if I recall. I suppose it is because, short of actually having a model get into a full bath/shower (and that would be a whole other type of channel!), there is little else they can do to demo the product!

Yeah but I could watch Lee do it, that Robin woman is soooooooooo dull, I am surprised Philosophy haven't seen a drop in sales on QVC since he left!

The Philosophy models spraying perfume into the air around their heads whilst smiling is the one that gets me. One of them looked wet through the other day. Thinking about it the perfume cannot be very strong otherwise they would be coughing and spluttering.

In any case what does it prove? If it smelt like donkey manure they would still smile.

They all do the foaming thing even LE. I think they think we are all stupid and will think we must buy it because it foams so well. It's the same when presenters put loads of cream on the back of their hand and say look at the difference that has made, as if we would slap that amount onto our faces.

I have never quite understood why you would buy perfume from qvc - because they said it was nice!!!! It is a very personal thing - when I have a sniff of some in Boots for example they smell awful and yet some people say it is their fav.
:r6:

I once made the mistake of buying perfume from QVC, years & years ago! It was a Tova TSV, can't remember what it was now, a very dark bottle I recall - it smelt like something had died in the bottle, revolting beyond belief!
I've never made the same mistake again!

My daughter once bought some Tova perfume said it was like stale old ladies perfume ...whatever that smells like, I never got to test it as she returned it straight away!

Drives me mad too. I'm sure it's the scrunchy thing that's producing the foam and not the actual product!

Agree with this too. And they do it over and over and over again. Not their fault though, what else can they do with a perfume and they are obviously told what to do by the director.

#11 The worst offender for random OTT perfume spraying is definitely Tova though!
Mind you, she's more Botox Borg than human these days so even if she inhaled tons of it/drenched her skin in it, I doubt it would do her much harm as she was assimilated into the rigid-face collective a long time ago!

I feel sorry for some of the models though! I remember at least one show where the unfortunate <s>victim</s> model was eventually gallantly fighting to hold back the pricking tears of discomfort!

How perfume will smell on you is to do with skin chemistry and also what sort of foods you eat. If you eat alot of spicy food then orientals will smell better on you.

Have to say all the Philosophy perfumes are awful on me.

#13 One of my daughters is one of these supremely lucky people on whom virtually all perfumes smell heavenly! Even cheapo ones smell nice on her!
(She is a horribly fussy eater & lives on a diet of toast, yoghurt & cereal, so maybe that's the key! lol)

I'm really weird with perfume - I have tried numerous times from QVC with different perfumes and they never work on me! Either they smell awful on my skin or they aggravate my asthma!
The only ones I can really work with are the Philosophy Grace ones and Calvin Klein Eternity.
I love the IDEA of all these fragrances that do this and conjur up that, but if they smell yucky on you, or you don't have time to sniff them because you're too busy wheezing, then buying perfume in general is an absolute nightmare anywhere.
When the models and Tova spray madly it always reminds me of the run I have to do through the perfume section of Debenhams!

mmmmmmmmmmm i wonder where tova gets her inspiration from basing her perfumes on stale old ladies

but which is worse? theres only one way to find out FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well s'long as they ain't foaming at the mouth - though some of 'em do seem to get very close to it <a href="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZNxpt484YYGB%2526i%253D36%252F36%255F1%255F58%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_58.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D36%252F36_1_58%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif"></a>

Oddly enough, I was tempted to write that on the title! lol

As for foaming at the mouth, I wish some of 'em would, it would at least make some of these shows a bit more interesting.....! :52:
