Although it isn't my cup of tea I can actually see it looking very nice for cocktail parties/glitzy functions to be honest, not that I ever go to any! Besides, I do believe that there are far worse fashion items on QVC.

Reminds me of a sparkly gold outfit my mother had in the 70s although if you zoom in the pattern if quite 20s. Actually I would wear it to a festive do.
