Watching QVC and heard Dale mention subtlety about his blog! Well I have never heard him mention his blog before. Part of the dialogue too and genuine discussion about a product.

Some presenters constantly harp on about them and nothing to do with the sale in hand!

Are blogs that important now? Genuine question as am a bit old hat to this media madness, lololololo! :mysmilie_5:

Personally I think QVC should just stick to being a shopping channel. I've never read a presenter's blog and never would. Dale's might be different, but I have absolutely no interest in them and what they do. It's just another outlet to polish their egos. I wouldn't go into Asda and expect a potted lift-story from whoever was on the till. I'd rather have more informed presentations, better prices and better service.

I don't shop with QVC anymore after twenty years, but I couldn't agree with you more, I used to say the exact same thing myself a couple of years ago.

I usually DO get the life history of the checkout person in our local Asda and YES I DO wish they'd just scan my shopping.

I used to read some of them but gave up pretty quickly. I did read Alison's blog when she had breast cancer because I was genuinely interested in how she was doing .

I agree they should stick to being a shopping channel ,but I suppose the blogs are all part of the "we are your friends" theme. Some of the responses are written as though they are friends with hugs and kisses.

Hardly read them either. Was highlighting that I never hear Dale mention his blog much unlike certain others! :mysmilie_8:

From the thread title I assumed you had read Dale's blog and found it refreshing...!
Well, I had a quick read of this blog a while back in a bored moment and it was just as annoying as all of the others, harping on about his perfect life and/or raving about whichever product he's been given to review! ;)
It wasn't just Dale's I read, I was curious - nosey! - as to what they all wrote about. Believe me, it's like another world - they're largely insufferable! - and it's mainly photos of their identikit homes/lives! That, or promoting their books (Julia and Debbie!)

I find them nearly all egotistical. I watch shopping Tv now if I am looking for a specific item and it works out cheaper and better than elsewhere. Would never buy clothes after having to send back a garment with its armpits smelling of sweat.Presenters on the whole strike me as seeing themselves as celebrities and interrupt guests who they see as less important than themselves. Pretentious people annoy me.I am sure no matter how many 'kisses' they send they would never want to be my friend. I myself like genuine people.

Don't read them unless I hear them talking about a particular product I have a vast interest in. When you have to constantly talk about meeting up Fbook people then I have no interest what so ever. Do some presenters have no 'real friends' that they have to meet online? Must be the case, shame that they have no close friends to talk to! :mysmilie_17:

i`ve only ever looked at one and that was to see Kathy at her daughters wedding wearing QVC `fashion` ...I couldn`t believe it so had to look!!

Part of their jobs along with the other social media they do! Just some more than others :mysmilie_1:
