I'm not really interested in who has the crown now but if a charity has lost out then it needs to be sorted. I've been and liked your comment - 23 likes at last count.

A lot of the nationals are always asking for stories from the public............... so let's give'em this one ! No doubt they would have field day and be quite inventive with the headline - "Queen & QVC (no not Queen Victoria's Crown)" Crown -; 'All that does not glitter at QVC' ; 'Diamoneek Crown goes walk-about' ; the list is endless, and not the sort of publicity Q would want ! That would make'em come clean.

I do not condone wrongdoing, but I was shocked to read this. Do you hate QVC that much you would go to these lengths? Or is this one of those tongue-in-cheek posts which fails to come over well? I have to say that you would need to be absolutely sure of any facts you had before you went down that road, otherwise it is just gutter gossip and speculation.

QVC said the crown was valued at £10,500.

It went to someone at QVC for £1000, and I was watching the programmes to bid myself but it wasn't aired.

So the charity lost £9,500 on QVC's own estimate.

I would have paid more than £1000 for it, had I been given the chance.

BTW I bought another very expensive item from a previous BCC events, so I am not bluffing.

I expect the backlash of everyone saying we are all entitled to our opinion but you really are spoiling threads on here, why don't you get a sense of humour and lighten up.

What ARE you talking about ????? SHOCKED ?? If something like a few sentences get your pulses racing in a shock horror way - then I feel sorry for you. There are much more important things in the world to be SHOCKED at, just watch your tv. I've sat back and kept out of the foray you've had with other posters, because I think the best way to treat these reactions is to ignore them and not respond to your postings. However, now its my turn it seems to be on the receiving end of your choice words, so carry on sweetie, jump up and down, get as nasty as you like in provoking reaction, but this is the first AND last response you get from me.

I understand how you feel Stratobuddy but I don't understand how the Crown auction was not open to all, especially if it was advertised to viewers. Presumably it was? What have you done to follow this up ? If you have and received no answers, then boycott the channel and if you believe there was wrongdoing, contact an authority who can investigate this on your behalf. I don't understand all the ins and outs, but in the case of BCC, QVC did admit an error, and resolved the matter with the charity. But now I read about a Crown auction. There is nothing wrong with wanting something investigating, but not by the gutter press.

I totally agree LOTL, she's ignored me for pulling her up on being the hypocrit that she is, the other day she was slagging Richard Jackson off calling him a Lemon, but surprisingly that's obviously ok. Apparently she blocked me because she can give it but not take it :giggle:

Since when did the truth ever get in the way of a good tabloid story? :D

The CROWN was given a lot of publicity and trails for weeks before the BCC auction, so I watched with interest for the auction.

Nothing!

I remember watching for it too as I too was interested in placing a bid, but i didn't see it aired either.

I`ve `liked` it !!
How can any of the one`s there on the night `working` when the auction took place not know what went on and more importantly not know what happened to such an expensive item !! It just doesn`t sound very good whichever way you look at it considering it was for charity!! A list of all things auctioned, what they went for and who bought them wouldn`t come amiss would it and I don`t think its too much to ask...looks as transparent as a London fog!!

I think all the regulars on here were watching and waiting for the crown auction as it had many many posts and good humour associated with it. We were all bewildered when it didn't appear and then there were some comments that Julia had it for £1000. Now maybe I have missed it but I have never heard anyone else say that BCC was recompensed by £9500 - could you post a link to this please?

With the crown auction fresh in our minds was it any wonder that we were disgusted when yet again Q and its employees/agents were involved yet again in the Joan Collins auction debacle ?

Can anyone tell me if anyone did anything about this? Write to QVC? Contact Trading Standards or somesuch body to investigate? What, if anything has anyone done about thiis and other instances of what is suspected wrongdoing. What do you want to happen?

I couldn't agree more, Brissles. I've already expressed my views about this individual who seems to like to dish it out but is not fond of being contradicted. I won't be sucked into that scenario again. Conversation killer is what I said before and I stand by it.

I think it is others who do not like to be contradicted!!!! You all moan on about QVC, and make this and that allegation. Now this forum is for ALL comments, good and bad, and I am entitled to mine. It is just a handful of you who cannot bear it that I have come along and not fallen into your mentality. Grow up! If you have a problem with QVC, its auctions, its presenters, do something about it and report them, get in touch with Watchdog, but don't attack me because I am asking why you haven't!

I took it up with QVC at the time, but was met with a wall of silence.

Unfortunately I hadn't recorded the programmes so had no proof.

These days I record anything I am considering buying.

I am currently corresponding with QVC about all the misleading info given by Abbi Horne recently about 2 radios and a battery charger she was the "expert" on. This is the subject of another thread. For example - - - "This radio is made in Britain, it's British through and through". So why did it say "Made In China" on the back? She momentarily turned it around, but with my recording and pausing at the right time, I could clearly see this. I am also corresponding with the radio firm, who are also taking it up with QVC.
