In my store we often have books returned that have obviously been read.

Cookery books with grease marks on the pages, paperbacks with the spines creased, gift/coffee table books with a happy birthday dedication inside, and even books that the company has never sold, usually the customer insisting 'but I bought it here last week'

The customers all 'know their rights' too, and actually they don't.

I bought a cat cave for Milo from ebay which is very similar to the cats slipper. He has never set paw inside it

He much prefers the bedside rug on my side of the bed or on top of me!

I never buy pet beds. They all decide they like the king size bed upstairs much better. Bry's the worst. He waits until we're asleep and he gets IN the bed. Ah well, more the merrier I suppose (pets though, not humans).
