i saw that. i agree its eve lom. read paula choice re liz earle skincare which i cannot use :the face stuff and its loaded with damaging ingredients and irritants. no wonder it causes me to react. some of the essential oils are toxic. not for me

Yes, I had a tub of the Eve Lom cleanser long before LE arrived on the scene. The muslin cloth was much larger than the LE one.

Talking of LE, just been watching the CEW awards hour. Why do they talk as if Liz still has the company? when we know it has been sold on twice over.

i have a few an eve loom one and some liz earle and anather brand where everything smelled of a strong earthy essential oil in a gold tub. she was really wacky and funny

Sorry too thick and wet, with the muslin clothes you can really wring them out.

I agree that a lot of 'good' face flannels are thick and wet, but buying cheap face flannels that are usually rougher in texture and much thinner, I've found to be perfect. I also avoid soft and fluffy towels like the plague - a good 'old' towel that's weathered and roughed up with age and washing, really helps buff up the face !

I must admit I like the SBC shammy even though I don`t use SBC products. I buy the shammys online and much cheaper than Q sells them for.

I'm gonna get me a Muslim cloth. Just poppin' down to the mosque. Allahu akhbar! No seriously I recall somewhere saying that Superdrug does some similar cloth-type thing. I liked the sound of the Liz Earle product though and my dermatologist recommended it. I just don't like the thought of lining snooty Liz's coffers with my hard-earned cash.

I'm not exactlly sure why but I have a real aversion to face flannels. I actually find them quite terrifying. I always remember going on a school trip to France in the early 90s and having a a horrible teacher called Mr Docherty (who everyone hated) scream at me from the window of the dormitory: "Oi, foreigner! Get up here and ring out that flannel NOW!" When I arrived in the dormitory she shoved the flannel in my face. If any teacher did that nowadays they would be sacked. I hated the dormitory, the flannel and most of all, her. I did love France though and surprised everyone by beings able to converse with all the locals in fluent French!

Emma Hardy Moringa Balm?

I was put off the Eve Lom by both the price and the mineral oil derivatives in it.

I use flannels with a ribbed surface. I find the muslin cloth too thin for my taste. I get that the cloth needs to be able to dry out between uses, but thanks to my electric towel rail that's not a problem. Mine get boil washed.

I don't use flannels. I won't have them in my flat. Instead I use cotton wool discs to cleanse.

I use a succession of face flannels to dry my face. I always end up with make up tide marks on towels so using flannels means I can change and wash them more regularly. For scrubbing my face I use a dermaflannel

I love rough towels and would use them over soft fluffy ones any day. I always feel like I have had a good exfoliation when I have dried myself.

I use the Elemis cloths, not as thick as flannels because they have a more open weave, much better than muslins and dry easily.

The Linda Lusardi cloths (IW) are better than the Liz Earle ones; I managed to stock up when they sold a pack of 6 or 8 cheap and with free p&p. They're just a better construction. They only have singles on the website at the moment but when they next try to clear the Lusardi stock they might do a bundle offer again. I didn't get on with the Emma Hardie cloths; it's a nice idea having muslin and terry sides but mine shrank unevenly.

In early Liz Earle shows Liz herself hinted that she created C&P as an homage to Eve Lom's Balm and cloth system, but with a cream texture and without the mineral oil.
