And the fact I was channel hopping between Home and Away and Neighbours, there was no mention of stone sizes in the cluster pieces. Important info on £600 - 1000 bauble I'd have thought. Did I miss it all? Plus 9ct gold, I know it is the hardest, but I'd want 18 for those prices.

I tried to look at the Diamond Spectacular 4:pM show on the website.
All I can say is they are not going to sell anything in this range if Cashmasoft Knitwear keeps coming up instead.

They use what drops onto the floor from the diamond cutters' bench. Just look at the diamond content in the details. It speaks for itself.

How come specialist jewellery channels can sell 9ct gold for way less than Q ?? I realise that the gold is probably a lot "thinner", but Q have always sold rings that are scooped out on the inside anway, so hardly any difference there.

Looking back, I reckon we were just fortunate at the time that gold and silver were affordable, to be able to buy such a variety of pieces with a good selection of stones and settings, that are unheard of now.

I liked the Art Deco style rings but as Charlie was holding them in a way that meant that I could not see if the shank was scouped out I did not seriously consider buying one.

Every ring I have ever bought from QVC has had the gold scooped out at the back, however, I did consider the prices reasonable at the time of buying - more gold, more cost. Haven't bought real jewellery for many years. Did you see that pink/white diamond ring for about two grand? It was really horrid - hope I don't get it for Christmas LOL.

Scooped out gold on rings is a pet hate of mine. I won't wear them, because I know it is hollowed out.

However I have a ring from Andrea Mclean eek. Where it would be hollowed out the design has set tiny eek stones in the shoulders. They still use less of the precious metal but I can bring myself to wear it. 11 quid on last clucks not bad at all.

Unless it was the lighting, much of what I saw looked like J-M in colour and visibly included, with prices way beyond what I would comsider appropriate for hollowed out 9ct gold. I can see however, that the easy pay option could make it look like an attractive opportunity.

Now see I liked that pink and White diamond ring! Not that I bought it nor was I tempted to do so but I did like it. Well I did from the picture on t'internet.

Mind you at that price and given it has pink diamonds it should be set in 18ct gold. Even if that upped the price.

I have bought from Gems in the past but I find the quality and weight of their pieces is inconsistent. I have one amethyst ring that is really heavy with a solid band but I have a smoky quartz ring that was a similar price, slightly less but only a pound or two, and it's much lighter with a really slim hollowed out band. I personally feel that the jewellery I buy from QVC is consistent in quality at a price I'm happy to pay.

I mainly by silver, semi precious stuff with the odd bit of eek thrown in.

Mind you I tried on a really heavyweight smoky quartz rose gold ring a couple of weeks ago. It was stunning. Square cut, 18ct gold, set with eye wateringly beautiful diamonds. An absolute snip at £5500. I didn't buy that either lol.
