A few years I bought something similar to this as an alternative to a traditional xmas tree, thinking it would give a whimsical and wintery look without having to faff around with a big bushy tree, baubles and lights etc. It just looked bleak and sad and not at all Christmassy. OH hated it even more than I did, and said this sort of thing is all very well as an extra in a porch or conservatory...but I'm sorry I'd rather have nothing that depressing twig! It wasn't cheap, so I took it back and got a refund. The ones on todays show might look nice in the studio with all the lights, other bits and bobs and of course other trees, but put it in your front room at home and it's gonna look pretty damned sad. Agreed - it sums up 2020 perfectly!

Mr CC's brother and wife have a really lovely twig tree every year. All sort of wood ornaments and gnomes and red gingham, very co-ordinated. They have a tiny house so it just kind of fits in. I've got a faux tree covered in a mish mash of 40 years worth of collected baubles and hanging things - every one a memory.

its nice to keep decs that have memories x

When I lived in London I went up to Selfridges and Harrods every year and bought a couple of things to hang on my tree. Selfridges windows were always done up like a woodland fairyland scene with deers and log cabins and snowy trees. I just couldn't be prised away (and I was in my 20's lol). I've still got all of them.
