I like Catherine and Caramel together, which is really weird as I don't like them apart. If you get a chance have a look at their 12:00 hour show on video clips, where they imitate each others accents - loved it!!

I thought Catherine and Claire were a poor combination on the Gemfest three hours. On their own, I like them both. Together, CS came across as a pantomime dame, and CH as a downtrodden waif. They also didn't seem to know much about each other, which seemed surprising after all these years.

I didn't catch Catherine with Carmel, but I can see that being a more relaxed combination.

Didn't see today's programme, but I agree Catherine and Claire were dire. I could not watch all their presentation, caught the first hour but quite frankly, I'd had enough by then.
Both so false and sugary and I was really fed up with those "where's the monitor" glances.

I think Catherine and Carmel were quite good together and the bit I saw was relaxed and quite natural.
Compare that with Claire and Catherine, were it looked like Lily Savage meets Cinderella pre ball.Claire was OTT orange blush and lips and enormous yellow dolly hair and Catherine looked washed out and pasty.
I got the impression they are not too friendly.

difficult to say now I expect as its a few hours later, but do you recall the item in which they were doing the imitating?

Carmel is really doing well in the double acts. Anna was with Pipa yesterday and it was a different story. She should watch and learn a bit more and spend more time describing the item and not urgently trying to make you buy it. I like Pipa and her experience really showed.

Managed to find it, its on watch todays video clips, for silver spectacular at 12:00 noon, item 603137, 11 items down |(the thulite diopside drop earrings) - made me chuckle...

Not keen on either on either of them. Find Catherine too sickly sweet and not warmed to Carmel. Together they just sounded the same to me.

Maybe I'm softening in my old age, but I found myself smiling at them together - oh and I loved the Larimar ring, but managed not to buy it!

I saw the JubileeHallmarkedBandRing in the preview - didn't know MyPudgeyPaws could use Q-cut that fast. ;-) Then I switched channels, my trinket's on its way! Who's working the KPaves show? It would be nice to see Caramel try a softer hairdo using his pieces, I think.

I saw that, and I also loved the Jubilee cross (but again managed to refrain). Totally agree would love to see Caramel in a different style as she can look harsh sometimes.

I didn't see this and haven't been impressed with Carmel in the slightest since she joined QVC, however, she was always at her strongest at Bid when she had someone else to bounce off/have a joke with; whether that was with one of the assistants, or when she was on with another presenter. Even on those dreadful casino channels she worked great when people would email in and she'd have someone to interact with. On QVC I also felt that she struggled greatly having to talk about the same item for anywhere upto an hour at a time, would quickly run out of things to say and then constantly repeat herself (whilst dropping in something to do with her wedding!). The constant turn over of items on Bid meant this was never an issue, plus it seems a more 'laid back' channel that favours the style of presenting that she is best at/most comfortable with.

There's clearly a gap in my knowledge Gray. I didn't know that Carmel had previous shopping telly incarnations. QVC is the cream of shopping telly in that there is generally no desperation about the presentations (which does my head in on other channels). The more I see of the newbies on qvc the more I think that the lovely Sam who missed out in the find-a-presenter must be gnashing her teeth. Why not give her a chance?

Carmel has got a minimum of five (and probably more) years experience as a full time presenter on Bid TV and their associated channels, so it's hardly like she's a newbie to Home Shopping. As you said, QVC is the Premier League of Shopping Channels and from what I've seen (and that isn't much of her at all recently to be fair), I just don't think her and the channel are a good mesh.

I don't know which Sam you're refering to. It's not the dark skinned girl who used to turn up every now and then as a guest, usually talking about fashion/footwear is it?

Yes that's her. Seems very pleasant and surely can't be worse than some. I don't know if she cut her teeth on other shopping channels but she looks to be calm enough!

Sam Simmons then. She actually used to work on those premium rate phone in shows about five years ago (same as Katie Piper (the girl who was a victim of an horrific acid attack, whose recovery and what not has been documented on Channel 4), where people would ring in to 'chat' to her), so I imagine she heard all sorts on those and little would phase her!

She seemed poised, elegant and worthy of the job. She's done modelling, commercials and was on DealOrNoDeal, too, I'm sure. The 3 judges were Julia and her smiling, friendly director/floor manager. The toughie, unsmiley judge was a woman, co-ordinator of the presenters. The decision to hire her now would be made by HR I would think. But it would be nice if she was given a chance, or a model provided the opportunity. Methinks.

JubileeBandRing received ... and, rejected. Hallmarks made by a weakling not STAMPED ON. They look like insipid scratches! Again, that close-up camera fooled me. Grrrowly and testy, I am, Q!!!
