So much for 'The Mustang Collection will only be available on QVC in the UK. This is the only place you'll be able to get these colours' I knew it was nonsense when I saw them on a wholesale website, but as it's trade only I didn't think anything of it as QVC were meaning the retail market.

So, imagine my surprise when OPI themselves started tweeting about it being available on their website today! http://www.opiuk.com/store/mustang/50-years-of-style

Good job the set worked out cheaper than my trade discount otherwise I would be really annoyed with them. It's quite obvious that OPI are now heading down the retail route rather than professional now. Their behaviour in the past couple of years prove it. This might be the final nail (boom boom, no pun intended) for me, might be Morgan Taylor for me from now on. If I didn't love OPI GelColor so much I would definitely be changing my ranges.

Q have basically just worded it wrong as what they mean is that the kit with the colours & the extras

(1 x Original Nail Envy (15ml)
1 x Nude Nail Envy (15ml)
1 x Avoplex Nail and Cuticle Oil (15ml)
1 x non acetone polish remover (30ml) - in a handy travel size)

make it an exclusive kit only for Q but you can get the colours anywhere but what they meant is that with those extras make the collection exclusive to Q

Having watched a fair few presentations of that kit I have to correct you. They specifically said the Mustang Collection colours were only available at QVC in the UK. More than one presenter said it too and they were backed up by Lisa Bennett.

I know they sometimes get around this my stating, "This kit was made exclusively for QVC, it is not available anywhere else." Which is true, but not to say that the kit won't end up for sale anywhere else in the future. I know myself I have purchased an ex tsv at Decleor in HOF, and seen a L'Occitane tsv for sale in a L'Occitane boutique. Probably down to excess stock or such like.

They have said things like that before, Gail Hayman it was stated for years only available at QVC. Total rubbish, people saw it on market stalls and a number of discount websites sold it. Now AY says QVC are the only official retailer, a bit of a difference.

Nails Inc is another one, I recently have seen quite a few kits which were exclusive to QVC on sale in TKMaxx.

The stock in TKMaxx is from QVC isn't it? Certainly they've had Leighton Denny TSVs in the past, complete with item number.

Hell some years back I walked into TKMaxx and they had the L'Occitane TSV(on that day no less), cheaper than the TSV price. Yes I grabbed one and few others caught on and grabbed the other kits.

That rings a bell Donna. You just have to visit on the right day, it used to be Tuesday afternoons at the one local to me. I think their beauty deliveries were on Tuesday mornings and it'd start being put on the shelves that afternoon. Recently this hasn't been the case so I might just ask someone next time I'm in. By Saturday there's usually only the tatty, opened, finger-printed stuff on view.

It does help being able to sniff various pots and bottles even if I'm not likely to buy, but being sensitive to scents in products it helps me eliminate certain QVC brands that I haven't tried before and saves me the return postage!

Also, the layout of the Worthing shop is odd, not all the nail varnish is in the hair and beauty section - I've bagged a few cheap Leighton and OPI sets from random places dotted around the store. Years ago when Decleor changed to the yellow packaging I got a huge selection of full size products, tried them and got no real effect so I've saved my pennies even in the face of AY and Fiona's hard sell ever since.
