When I was growing up we used to find a few shops in Blackpool sold plain bread, I liked that it didn't have side crusts (never wanted curly hair or a hairy chest!). I miss butter pies too (not sure if they're from Scotland as well, but they're not sold down in Sussex afaik).

Oh yes, "going for the messages". My gran used to say this and when I was a kid I thought she was a spy going for secret messages from who knows who :mysmilie_19:
