Thinking about it people wouldn't have been able to buy on the web all weekend as nothing is going into the baskets and everyone who had goodies in their baskets will have lost them now, so that is a big loss of sales all weekend, especially as us web bidders don't/won't or can't phone!

So annoying, especially when you trawl through the website find the goodies you want, only to have them removed!
 
It seems as though you can still add to basket, even if you can't check out. I've just had a go at replacing something I guessed must have gone and I'm now getting "basket full" again, so obviously it went in, despite all the "shock horror alerts". If you really want something then and can't 'phone, it's worth knowing. xxxxx

PS Other than time, the only other snag I can see to this, is that you may not be able to take advantage of the one p&p. I have a running order and a full basket, so may have to pay p&p twice.

The items are adding to basket even though you can't see it. I have just had an e-mail reminding me that I have items in my basket :eek:

Nothing I can do if I can't see the basket :thinking:

Lol - can we all 'ave one. I've got a reminder for a ginockerous pair of earrings. I've never bought earrings in my life, not for me or anyone else. Looks like I've just started and I went, as usual, straight for the biggest. I'm gettin' a nedache. :confused: xxxxx
 
This is a right pain, as I too have items in my basket and want to check out!

As others have said, it seems to be possible to add items to baskets - just not to access the basket in order to check out. By the time we can get back in, we'll have lost all our items (since, as we all know, Gems' systems operate a 2 day removal policy).

Let's hope Rocks will give us a BIG DISCOUNT VOUCHER to make up for this...
 
I sent an e-mail to the studio but they may not bother with it at this late stage, and not everyone will be "watching" so to let you know, it may be possible to check out your baskets. Go to your "wish list" (whether you use it or not doesn't matter), on the left of the screen is a menu list for "my basket". Although you still cannot access the contents it looks as though the menu item "checkout" is functioning. You can also access your checked out orders through this menu as well, which could be useful if you've forgotten what's in your basket. Hope that helps someone (switch off is happening from midnight tonight). xxxxxxxx
 
I was just about to try what Argey suggested, but even better news... I have just managed to get into my basket!

Are they switching off everything from midnight tonight, then, while they sort out systems?
 
You've probably seen JB's post on baskets but, just in case - yes, check out by midnight as they can't merge the baskets into the system. xxxxx

But now I only have 2 items in there, not worth checking out or do I spend ages looking to add more :thinking:
