Avatar advice please..

As a junior member - I only joined a week or so ago - am I allowed an avatar?
I have been to my control panel and clicked on the 'edit avatar' button but cannot activate it. Do I need to be a member for some time first?:thinking2::

you need to become vip member to allow you extra functions like avatar, i think.
