Another mispronunciation!

PLEASE TJC presenters when selling Agate can you pronounce it correctly and stop calling it A-gate! A gate is something you open to walk up a path or to go into a field and it is not a gemstone!

The correct pronounciation is 'AGIT'. If you don't believe me then just click "submit" on this link and make sure your volume is turned up on your PC. A very kind gentleman will then prounounce it correctly for you!

Actually I did generalise a bit in my post which is unfair as I'm sure the fabulous John Scott does actually say 'AGIT' but he's the only one who gets it right. Mind you, he always said Marquise correctly too. Maybe they should get John to do some training with the others and teach them how to speak properly :grin:

Argey ... that's brilliant!

I thought it was "A-gut" ... almost "A-gert" with a very soft R ... blimey, this is hard to write! Kind of more like the "u" in "Circus" ... does that make sense?

Still reads as a get not a git - lol, and sounds like a gut/gert. Perhaps it's an accent thing? Profligate ...say that, then cross out the p, r, o, f & l ... substitute the "i" for an "a" (as in "And") and that's how you say it!
