Now Julia is another matter! I know she has some problem with an ankle or whatever but the awful trainers? For the time she is on air surely some different footwear could be worn or she could sit down? Perhaps this is a fashion statement which is lost on me?

I don’t care what sort of feet you have, dancer or otherwise, somewhere there is some brand which will fit, especially if you can afford it and surely JR‘s income is more than sufficient especially considering she gets all cosmetics, electrical goods and garden items FOC.

I caught her saying yesterday that when they first started the channel they were expected to wear skirts and jackets when on air. How times have changed and how the standards have gone down, judging by what some of the female presenters wear on air nowadays.

I remember Pipa saying they weren’t allowed to wear jeans unless they were actually selling jeans that would leave Chloe in a bit of a pickle as I don’t think I’ve seen her in anything else..

I totally agree & one of my favourite brands is Gabor. My granny always said to spend your money on your bed & your shoes because if you're not in one you're in the other. My nanny used the expression 'The magic of ordinary days' & that's my philosophy too. I had amazing grandmothers & even though they left many years ago their words & laughter often come back to me.

Talking of grans reminded me that mine's been gone 20 years in September Lucky to have her that long I suppose. I miss my grandparents every day.
