I have mentioned some of my bad experiences when going through the menopause and I do wish that the senior staff had been more educated about how it may affect the work performance of their staff; I felt very alone and I had the impression that the senior staff thought I was weak and neurotic when I said I had only slept three hours etc. I don’t like the commercialisation of menopause but I am glad that the cloak of ignorance is rising.I don’t know how I managed to get through the menopause unscathed without the non-stop support of QVC and all the others, like Davina, jumping on the bandwagon ….. but I did.
Yes, awareness by the medical profession in particular is much needed… and in society in general. Menopause generally coincides with the invisible woman phenomenon. Apparently women become invisible and valueless once they no longer have the ability to become pregnant and have babies…I have mentioned some of my bad experiences when going through the menopause and I do wish that the senior staff had been more educated about how it may affect the work performance of their staff; I felt very alone and I had the impression that the senior staff thought I was weak and neurotic when I said I had only slept three hours etc. I don’t like the commercialisation of menopause but I am glad that the cloak of ignorance is rising.
So did I, but I was lucky. Mum suffered terribly and my sister had her struggles. I had assumed it was down to our genes but clearly not in my case.I don’t know how I managed to get through the menopause unscathed without the non-stop support of QVC and all the others, like Davina, jumping on the bandwagon ….. but I did.
Me too! Hardly noticed it all.I don’t know how I managed to get through the menopause unscathed without the non-stop support of QVC and all the others, like Davina, jumping on the bandwagon ….. but I did.
