    Missing Stone?

That is aweful Anjo. I really don't think I would buy something that needed repair, but when you really like something, it is so disappointing. I never understand how the packers can pack things that are broken or faulty.

Finding it hard to be tempted!

Same here Sacha that is exactly how I have felt for quite a while. I had a look yesterday in the hope of finding something nice, husband even said he would treat me, but like you I couldn't be tempted. I rarely buy silver but I used to love the limited designs.

A go at a "constructive" thread

Each time there has been an improvement things seem to have got worse for the customers instead of better. I really liked the request system. Communicating with the presenter was brilliant, but contact with anyone in the studio can be really helpful. Quality control has been aweful. Nobody...

hands up if you think some Gems TV staff are putting strange threads on here?

I know I am a bit late but my hand is up too. They were driving me crackers, I nearly started a thread myself and then decided I was just being grumpy.

    Is it ACTUALLY Paraiba Tourmaline??

I totally agree with Meeshoo and Lambchop and support everything they have written. I really couldn't have said it better. Martinjay the only thing I can agree with you about, is the fact that jewellery should be bought because you love it; anything else may be a bonus, but really does not...

    Is it ACTUALLY Paraiba Tourmaline??

    Is it ACTUALLY Paraiba Tourmaline??

I have no illusion about what I could or could not sell my ring for if I was willing to sell it, which I am not. It is a ring with two 13pt SI diamonds and over six grams of platinum. If I had bought that from a local jeweller it would have cost a lot more than £599; so as far as I am concerned...

    Is it ACTUALLY Paraiba Tourmaline??

Sorry for hi jacking this thread, but I thought I would continue where I started. I had my Paraiba Tourmaline (Mozambique) valued today by Safeguard. It cost me £599 eighteen months ago and was given a minimum value today of £4250. She is going to do a bit more checking regarding the colour as...

    Is it ACTUALLY Paraiba Tourmaline??

Wow! Thanks Meeshoo they are so beautiful, and very interesting to compare. My stone is 2.67ct and a very nice colour but not as dark as yours, which look wonderful. It does have a good glow as I have tested in the shade. It is in platinum with two decent diamonds, I am really looking forward to...

    Is it ACTUALLY Paraiba Tourmaline??

I decided after reading your posts that I would get my best paraiba ring valued; so have made an appointment with safeguard for next wednesday morning. Will let you all know what they say. I am interested in the insurance value, and how good the stone is.

    Old Gems jewellery has disappeared

Yes something seems to have gone on because they all seem to have gone in one swoop.

    Old Gems jewellery has disappeared

For the past few months I have popped in to the on line boutique at gems just for a quick look at what is on offer. I have to say the best items were the old gems stock and the prices really were good. I had a look today and they all seem to have gone. Nothing else seems to appeal to me! What a...

    Carol"s Ring

I assume he bought her engagement ring! why didn't he know her size?

    Carol"s Ring

She could wear it on her middle finger as I am sure it would fit there. I certainly would if some one had bought it for me.

    The National Osteoporosis Society

This is all very sad. There is so much I could say but would probably ramble on for ever. Maybe one good thing to come out of it is an advert for the National Osteoporosis Society. My father is totally crippled with it.

An unrepairable ring mount full of air bubbles

This is the sort of thing that really worries me, particularly items that I have bought for friends who need to resize their rings. I would be so embarrassed if this happened to them.

    Pink Emeralds and many returns

How strange that something so addictive could quickly become so boring. Can this really be good business sense? Imagine if all the new customers had become addicted too. I am so reluctant to buy now it is unbelievable; especially after seeing Emma trying to flog a silver and ruby ring a few...

    GemsTV Format Change

I had found the auctions extremely boring, and having had a look now, they do seem to move along faster;but for some reason I still have no desire to watch. I am definitely cured of the Rocks addiction, having begun my recovery last year when they moved on to the TV.

    genuine falling price? yeah right!

I must say that I do agree with everything that has been said. The falling auctions are not what they are made out to be, and it would be easier to watch if you were just given a price. If then it does not sell it could be withdrawn. You could decide if you want to buy and everyone could move on...
