One Day Special products are dire!

Well you've got to give them credit for another decent brand name for the One Day Special. They need more like this. There's no way they can compete with Amazon on the price so I reckon a lot of non-internet users will snap this up.

    All new price drop

I caught a bit of this over lunchtime...what an utter disaster right from the off. Whoever dreamt this idea up needs to be shown the door pronto. Why don't they go the whole hog and ladle on their contempt for viewers and callers by adding a couple of long loud raspberry noises to that dreadful...

    Random musings/no argument zone

I see on Shop At Bid they are now quoting a "normal price" in the price box along with a notional "saving".

    All new price drop

I'll have to catch a look at this later, but it sounds like it will be impossible for them to make any money from it...how bizarre.

    Would they be better off...

I like this forum too, and that was an extreme example of how they should operate, but seeing how this company is staggering from one crisis to another (I haven't seen the new Price-Drop this morning, but it sounds like a sure-fire way not to sell anything) it sadly could be the future.

    Would they be better off...

...just sacking the lot and simulcasting Ideal World across the three channels as a temporary measure? It's obvious the management want to make Bid into something of an IW clone, and there's nothing wrong with that, as long as it's done with professionalism. The problems with Bid are the same...

Had to switch off not long after 10. MM seems to be shouting at the camera louder than ever tonight, and Sally never looks comfortable sharing air-time with him.

The Frump selling a baggy ladies' jumper yesterday "Ideal for cooking the Sunday roast in, as you won't get too hot in the kitchen" I wonder how many female Bid viewers out there base their fashion choices on their cooking schedule?

Here in the NE I can only get Bid on 23 and 791 till midnight (Price-Drop on 37 has vanished altogether).

Never been seen since Dirty Peter offered him a lift home one Friday night. :mysmilie_14:

Sherlock really has an over-inflated sense of his own self-importance when it comes to his "designer" fragrance range. I caught him a couple of weeks back flogging Divine Decadence and he said that there was a personally written message for buyers on the label on the back of the bottle, but he...

I see the Spring Clearance ends at 6 p.m. on Friday on Price-Drop and then the EPG changes to 'Best of Bid'. No more live auctions, then?

    Thoughts/Opinions on Bid rebrand

Sherlock said yesterday that he's just finished the pack design for his second "fragrance", and, oh dear, has plans to bring out a 10-fragrance sampler set for Xmas !

Whoa ! Still an eye-watering £6.99 per item on jewellery. How on earth can they justify this?

    Thoughts/Opinions on Bid rebrand

I agree. If they are going to copy the IW format the presenters need to be calm, informed and able to sustain interest in the product for an hour (which is a very long time in broadcasting terms). Description, description, description is what this business is all about. It's no good just...

    Thoughts/Opinions on Bid rebrand

I've no idea about the name change, Pola. I read elsewhere that the company left a bunch of irate tweets on the Bid account which were promptly removed. I assumed they must have been treated pretty badly by the company.

Too true. On the one night when they really needed someone calm and collected to prove that an image change was at least being set in motion they got Mason jumping up and down like an excitable child .

    Thoughts/Opinions on Bid rebrand

I'm disappointed they couldn't even string together 2 or 3 big brands in a row for their opening night. Ok, Tefal is fine (if not exactly new to the channel), but then we're straight on to those awful Irish coinage watches that Peter made such a pig's ear of selling the other night. Others have...

    Thoughts/Opinions on Bid rebrand

From what I read elsewhere, they must have been royally screwed over by Bid, and naturally weren't too happy about it. Bid were still selling their sauces this afternoon on the website ! They seemed lovely people, with a great product...they must be ruing the day they signed up with Bid to...

What do you expect to see 10/03/14 at 10 p.m.?

Mike Mason's opening spiel this evening - a prediction - "Good evening and a warm welcome to the new look Bid TV. Let's start off with our new feature, One Day Specials...now what is a "One Day Special"? A One Day Special is a specially selected item that runs for one day...or until stocks run...
