    Happy delivery

What a very pretty bracelet and ring Emza. I had to do a double-take on what you'd paid for the Beryl - wow, what a great price. Both pieces look great on you. Good luck tonight starting your new course and please let us know how you get on. You're going to save heaps of money once you start...

Warning - Big Disappointment on Rainbow Sapphire Bracelet

What a disappointment for you Jacqualina. As they had another bracelet in stock, you would have thought they would have sent you the replacement at no extra charge and in doing so kept a very happy customer. It's too bad now that Gems CS is no better than the others. Will you try a local...

    Alexandrite loose stone now set

Thanks so much gemcherub for your advice. I've had bad experiences with local jewellers too. One of them totally ruined a rainbow sapphire ring when resizing it - gggrrrrrr! Apart from taking a course and doing it myself (lol), I was also wondering about the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter as I...

    Alexandrite loose stone now set

I love your new ring Gemcherub - the raspberry pink colour is gorgeous. It would look right at home in one of those exclusive jewellers windows with no price tags on display! Now you have a ring you will enjoy wearing for many years to come. Btw, I just sent back 2 Aqua rings to TJC...

    WOWZA! 8.7ct Paraiba Tourmaline

Madness! I can't believe anyone paid that price - eeek! I bought a PT pendant in the same carat weight for a fraction of that price and the colour is the top neon swimming pool blue. Maybe someone would like to buy mine for £19k! :lolwave:

    Tignanell TSV tomorrow

I didn't buy the TSV, but bought one of their glove leather bags (well 2 actually, but I really needed them!). :wink2: I'm really impressed with the quality of these bags. The leather is buttery soft. I was having a 'feel' of some of the super expensive designer bags the other day and the...

Malachite and spinels - are they gems or not?

I think spinel is such an underrated gemstone. It has great brilliance and usually good clarity and being an 8 on the Mohs scale, can be worn without too many worries. The best thing of all though, because I'm getting to be a gemstone anorak, is that it's rarely heated treated or irradiated to...

    Web problems?

I emailed Gems CS yesterday morning to ask about the web problem. I was out most of the day, but when I got back home I had 2 calls from Gems on my answering machine and before I returned the call, Carl phoned again. It was a techy problem at their end apparently. Great customer service Gems...

    Yesterday's delivery

Sorry I'm late to this thread. I love your TP earrings gemcherub - purples and greens, nice white diamonds and a great design. What more could you want? I saw your sapphire ring on air yesterday lunchtime. No-one's going to miss this ring on your finger - striking colours and a really...

    OMG Shocking News

What a terrible trajedy and senseless loss of life. I hope Bruce recovers quickly from his injuries. Poor man, I can't even imagine how you'd cope facing the loss of a parent in such a traumatic way. My thoughts are with his family at this very sad time. Mathilda, what a shock. I hope your...

    Today's delivery - opinions please

I'd choose the first Andesine too as it's a more true red. You could keep them both though as they are so different! :-) For me, I'd want to see a good shift of colours in the Zultanite ring. Are you seeing different coloured greens, bronzes and apricots?
  17. Oops-a-daisy!

    Wish i'd bought that!

I did end up with a RA, but it was later through a forum member. The 2 I bought at the time they were aired had no colour change at all. My real big regret is that I didn't buy a red diamond. I almost did, but then couldn't justify the expense at the time.

Why do some emeralds say origin N/A?

Sorry, but it seems like a poor excuse. If Gems don't know where the Emeralds have come from, then I for one won't be buying an Emerald from N/A!!!!!

    Cultured Opals...What are they please?

Cultured is sometimes used as a synonym for 'lab-grown' gemstones. Here's more info that I found on the web. Synthetic opal As well as occurring naturally, opals of all varieties have been synthesized experimentally and commercially. The discovery of the ordered sphere structure of precious...
