I’ve also used Micellar on its own for years but now follow it up with a Nassif detox pad. However, the detox pad never has anything on it so I guess the Micellar does a good job at removing makeup, including waterproof mascara. I wear mascara every day and a quick blast of balance and brighten on my face. I don’t wear a liquid foundation. Maybe if I did then the detox pads would have something on them after use.

I have never used a toner.

That’s a shame… don’t really want to have to use two cleansers
I am currently using Garnier miscellar water. I use only one cleanse with it, occasionally two. Then either Aldi rose toner or Dr Nassif detox pads which leaves my skin really clean. Never have done a cream/ balm cleanse after miscellar, don't see the point to be honest. I won't be buying the Elemis TSV this time round.

I wear a liquid foundation Toril ( Estee Lauder longwear) and there is rarely any foundation residue on the detox pads after using miscellar. I find it quick, easy and efficient - as well as cheap!!

Yes, Caroline Hirons hates them. She says they will not properly remove makeup or sunscreen. Okay, for a quick cleanse first thing in the morning.
I remember using the Elemis one when it first came out and hated it. So never had the urge to try any other brand.

No good to me then. I use a hot cloth cleanser in the morning and a cleansing balm at night. I like water on my face.

I was under the impression that if you used Micellar water to take off makeup you should always follow with a second cleanse as it’s not designed to be left on the skin, maybe I’ve read it wrong 😑
I hadn't considered that to be honest Lynn but it wouldn't be an issue to me as I use it just before I have a shower so that probably gets rid of any excess left on my face I suppose.

Well I guess you are using it the correct way especially as you don’t wear makeup.🙂

I use it in a morning having done a thorough cleanse with something else e.g facial wash or C + P at night.
I’m the opposite way round! I use a cleansing balm in the morning and micellar at night. I’m probably doing it the wrong way given all the comments posted, but it seems to work OK for me. 😀

I think as long as we are cleansing our skin, it doesn't really matter what we use or how.
It's all personal preference based on textures and scent of products.

Micellar removes all my make up on it's own, but I always feel the need to use water on my face afterwards, it just feels cleaner if I do.

Who is Caroline Hirons please? I’ve never heard of her.

I did a comparison of taking make up off with a balm cleanser and micellar water. Micellar took all make up off . Balm cleanser did same. Just out of interest I used toner after both methods. Nothing came off after using micellar water, quite a lot came off after cleansing balm. Not expensive micellar water either - Garnier for sensitive skin 700ml for £6.

The lesson to be learned here? If you find something you like stick to it.In the past well even recently I decided to try something different, no improvement so in this case returned to Q for a refund.I like and use LE but checked my stash and have enough.Like the SS moisturiser so am not trying the new one.So although intending to go for the TSV common sense has prevailed! Long may it last!

I'm awaiting the price on this Elemis TSV. I might even get two. I was never mad keen on Elemis but when Decleor went down the pan I've been using it more and more and it is a good brand for me but I have to be a bit selective. Not sure it's worth the huge prices though.

I love it and I paid £45 for one bottle when I was at a spa day so the TSV is bound to be a bargain compared to that. Hopefully SCW will come up with a price for us soon.
