Apricot Prices

I don't understand how Apricot's prices are so low. I have a blouse and it is well made and no worse than similar blouses from other brands that are one third more expensive. DF mentioned that more Apricot clothes would be coming in every month from now on. They must be selling well with few returns. Are they from a factory that mass produces and sells to other companies who put on their own labels? If so, you'd see the same clothes in shops all over the place.

They are a world wide brand and success story. I like the fact the prices of their clothing reflects the cost to make them in affordable places such as China, Vietnam and India.

I think white shirts designed for females tend not to be tight fitting like a man's work shirt and the collar is usually worn open so stands out more. The body of the fabric and the sleeves stand proud of the body, but as the fabric doesn't flow like a blouse it does have a rather "crisp" appearance. I guess one wouldn't notice the "crispness" so much on a coloured shirt. Also the word "crisp" sounds a lot fresher and cleaner than stiff or starchy. It's not a look I'd want as I prefer comfort and practicality in my clothes.

If the prices are good, everyone, grab them now. I think it's the usual ploy to get everyone buying them, then as soon as that happens, hike the price up steeply. So be warned. I might have a look myself and beat the marketeers, even though I don't really need anything.

edit: My view: loads on clearance and the few items that are full price aren't what I'd call cheap. I commented on the paperbag twill trousers earlier - badly cut.
