I thought the DSR applied to everything unused, and you get full refund plus the original postage (but not the return postage) back provided you return within 7 days of receipt in a resaleable conditiin. You must notify themin writing first. So if the item is not faulty then the only thing you lose out on is your return postage.

If the item is faulty, used, not quality or something that is the sellers fault then you should get everythinh back, full refund, outward and a postage label. This would be under the MBG and/or statutory rights.

The DSR is a statutory right designed to put the online (or TV) purchaser in the position they would have been in had they beenin a store and able to physically examine the goods. No idea why this means we should pay to return it but there you go. I suppose the sellers argued to parliament that if a buyer was in a store they would not have bought and they would not have had to process a return so why should they help a buyer return something they would not have had to do if it had been sold in a store.

So...if you buy in haste, don't like it and don't use it and return it quickly it should only cost you return postage. I am nit sure whether the DSR have exclusions such as Northern Ireland, Scottish jurisdiction or that relate to non mainland postage- without checking.

If there is something wrong with it (used, faulty, ) then it should not cost you anything, postage included.

Having said all that I hardly ever practice what I preach. If I did Q would have closed my account years ago.

I suppose we only have ourselves to blame, in not using the DSR available. I know as soon as I've opened the package whether I am going to like it or not, and I have always returned 'stuff' within 3 days lets alone 7 or 30 days. Its the 'faff' thats involved in order to get recompense for returned goods, and I'm sure if I used it for everything I've returned in the past 10 years then I doubt whether my account would have lasted 12 months. Although I'm sure the amount saved would have paid for a family holiday outright.

I do love the Click & Collect that is in operation by a lot of the online stores. When I need to return something, I take it to a C & C collection centre (usually a village shop) and it doesn't cost a penny !!!! So WHY cant QVC go down that route too ???

My mum was chatting to staff in post office the other week and they were saying the had no leaflets on it and were hoping they would get some but when I was in last week, nothing!! Crazy as it is a huge change.

The changes are a nightmare and it is making selling on Ebay very difficult now as people won't want to pay £6 odds for a parcel which is classed as medium sized and it you don't send recorded then you are only covered for £20 not £40.

The PO expects everyone to do everything online now, so they save money on printing costs and can justify (to themselves) all the post office closures. They even encourage you to print your own postage labels online now. Fine if you can but not everyone has the internet or understands it. Terrible really.

They have got the pricing all wrong. Having to pay over £3 for something just because it is over an inch thick, even though it weighs under 100g, is outrageous. As you say, people are selling less on eBay now, myself included. Another reason I will think twice before I buy from QVC from now on, especially things like nail varnish sets, as before at least I could sell the colours I didn't want on eBay.

QVC are long overdue a rethink on their P&P charges. I can't think of another major retailer who charges as much over all for deliveries (especially when you order a number of different items at the same time and have to pay for each P&P cumulatively) and returns. They don't have the high street outlets to be able to offer people free delivery or return to store, but they could do something about the ridiculous insistence on customers returning everything separately, for example. Their excuse that different products are handled by different warehouses/people is weak - it is not our problem!

I've heard of Post Office staff being a bit off with people who have printed off their own postage labels and just taken their parcel to post, as the business doesn't get paid for that, whilst they would get paid if they sold the stamps. I thought that eBay parcels were keeping a lot of post offices going so this ridiculous price increase could be disastrous for them.
