Simon Biagi said today about using the Shark all over your house and return it if not happy. Using it in one room would tell you if it was rubbish not hammering it for a month then sending it back for some poor sucker to receive it.

QVC should really be taken to task for foisting cast-offs on to customers. They charge enough for their products and if people wanted secondhand items they'd go to a charity shop. Picture this: You've ordered a Michele Hope top in dusky pink stretchy lace. You'd planned to wear it with a Crimplene, pleated skirt to impress your friends Pauline, Enid and Barbara at the monthly whist drive held by the local WI. Fizzing with excitement, you open the package...only to be hit by the nauseatingly stale stench of Tova Nights and mothballs pinging up your nostrils. It's not on!

:mysmilie_17: Lordy, do they still do that?? I used to live in London and use public transport. What people do and try and get away with (groping etc) is eye opening.

I did a bad return once. I had Carole Hochman fleece pyjamas which did not mix with my little dog that cast his coat constantly so that said dog hair permanently attached to the fleece. After trying for a week to get all the hairs off I gave up and sent them back. I'm so ashamed - hope none of you got them after me! I bought a multi-tool gadget this Christmas for Mr CC which arrived with no box and a bit of bubble wrap around it. Obviously been tried out. I kept the packaging as I was sure it would go back but Mr CC loved it so it's been kept after all. Wonder how many things they get returned after Christmas.

I used to work for a mail order company and the girls who dealt with returns used to hate summer as people would order garments, take them on holiday and then return them after their holidays.

when you shop in a high street store its highly likely that the items we try on have been tried on before. on the whole qvc items are usually imo factory fresh. its been rare that i have had something obviously tried on or worn. not saying its never happened though
