Unbeliveable. We are low lives for mentioning a presenters child?

Would this be the presenter who found a way to mention his child in every sale? He's scared of the dark, he's not scared of the dark, pooter, my missus has bad breath, her feet smell, his general 70's demeanour and woman hating comments, good riddance I say. I also love the way his missus speaks for him on facebook and seems to think shes a celebrity in her own right!

Which presenter (didn't really watch bid, but knew it was crap) and who is the wife?.....link please!!

Happy to provide hosting for you, if you want.

As for people saying about the board closing, or poster's leaving:

Thanks KingEurope, I've just clicked this link

You have to laugh at some of the Facebook posts on the presenter pages, You have 100's of people saying how sorry they are that the channels have ended and then someone asks "what day will it be back on"

I've been having a look through Sally's page and she has 250 messages from people and she has replied to a fair few- a seclection are below and gives an insight into what happened that afternoon

Your messages mean so much to me. Thank you.
I was first made aware Bernard when I went into the studio at about 2.40 ish ready to put on my mic pack and show you what I had for the afternoon show.
Peter wasn't there and someone came in and said I had to go upstairs as we had been closed. I was in shock, cried and ran to the dressing room to tell Paul Evers. We all felt sick!

It is so sad. Everyone that worked at Bid was truly fantastic. We all loved working there.
I am just packing my room up in London as moving back North today....very mixed emotions. Going to miss one of my best friends Wendi whom I have met since my time at bid and lived with for 4 years. X

Going to miss it to Sue. It's like a bad nightmare. I am so sad, I can't stop crying. It was like a big family. The work wasn't work, but amazing fun. My colleagues/friends were hilarious and truly professional. I am sure they will go on to great things.
I am gutted I am not with you all this weekend, but with you in spirit.
I will have VT going on my website in the next week or so and I will update and blog. Plus I will be doing the odd radio show, which I will let you all know about and how to get it.
Love Sally x

Thanks Jane. We will miss you all to. It was like a proper little family. X

Thank u so much. Haven't slept, just can't believe it. Xxx

Andrea McClean or to many of us Andrea Binks or Binksy has spoken too
Hi Everyone! Wow what a day yesterday! As most of you know I was leaving the sit up channels for new ventures but I am truly saddened by the closing of Bid TV and Price drop TV. I had been with these channels since Price drop launched and I am so sad to see them go! Thank you for all your support over the years I truly appreciate you all and I certainly hope to be back on the screens shortly! X I'll keep in touch via this page and want to wish you all a fabulous Easter weekend

I just worry about what period of time is appropriate to discuss Bid's rotting carcass.

It's a bit like the Christmas Turkey. You can pick at it for days but sooner or later you'll have to sling it before it starts to stink :mysmilie_59:

Don't worry about it - When we get bored, then it'll start to die it's own death naturally, and I'm sure that Graham won't allow a rotting carcass to start stinking out his forum - Though one could argue that
a certain Divine Decay, sorry Decadence probably smelt a lot worse! Dunno about you Wirral, but the Bid forum is one I have visited every day for at least a year and whilst for obvious reasons there isn't going to be any live fodder save for what the presenters are putting out on Social Media sites, we're still talking, and I don't know about you, but the last couple of days has produced some hilarious and entertaining threads, a special thanks has got to go to MEGADROP £1 for their recent input!
I don't know about you but I do hope that another shopping channel soon rises from the ashes, but a decent non -shystering one, but with that element of fun that lacks in some of the ones we're left with. Perhaps that's not possible. Joking aside, as much as we came on here to have a moan, a laugh a chat or what have you, there's going to be people out there who are going to miss these channels more than we'll ever know, I'm not saying that's a good thing, but it's gonna hit some people hard - so let's thank the worry angels for small mercies!
I've got IW on in the background, and it ain't the same, but at least my money's now safe - I've got a halogen oven and I don't need a pressure washer or a garden hose. I wish I could get into the History channel the way I got into shopping - at least I'd learn something worthwhile - I have tried, but sometimes a friendly voice in the background's all you need, and I'm not even lonely, so heaven forbid what's it's like for somebody who is!

Thanks for your kind words merryone its appreciated and I'm glad you have enjoyed some of my posts.

I have also smiled multiple times every time I visit this forum there are some hilarious posts from everyone

I also not only agree with wanting a new channel but it has to be the more honest of the channels, not only with the larger of the personalities from bid and price drop BUT they must have no more of the lies that took over the channels and the higher end of the spectrums of the products with the lower of the p&p's, personally I'd welcome Peter back into my home anytime and I'm quite unique in this but there are no presenters that I really disliked, I guess I grew to like them all as you do with a family some you like more than others but they are all part of the family regardless and they all brought their own saying and personalities. not only would the fun have to come back and the interactions between the presenters and the viewers.

Who thinks the 'Shop at Bid' brand will relaunch as an online company? The same as Woolworths and Zavvi did?

Just seen this it may already have been posted but I haven't seen the comments from Will Wright.

Will Wright and Allan Graham from KPMG’s Restructuring practice have been appointed as joint administrators.

Will Wright, partner at KPMG and joint administrator, said: “It is really disappointing, given the hard efforts the company has made and the support of the majority of its creditors, that a satisfactory conclusion to the restructuring could not be reached. Despite the recent approval of a Company Voluntary Arrangement agreement with creditors, a significant and unexpected fall in sales over the course of the last month meant that the company was simply unable to continue to trade.

Launched in 2000 by former ITV Digital directors Ashley Faull and John Egan, Sit-up had been through a number of owners, including Virgin Media and Munich-based Aurelius, the company that owns Germany’s RTL Shop. in December 2013 Sit-Up was acquired by restructuring specialists Tnui Capital.

In a move widely thought to be about reducing Freeview carriage costs, bid and price drop moved “multiplexes” on the week commencing 31st MSit-up logoarch, meaning they were being broadcast on new frequencies. Viewers needed to retune to keep watching. But Price Drop moved to a digital multiplex that has limited UK coverage and can only be received on newer TVs, set-top-boxes or PVRs that can decode “Freeview HD” signals, despite the channel only being in standard definition.

Bid TV had been off-air in Wales for several weeks in advance of the frequency change; the frequency change meant that most of Wales gained Bid TV until the 17th April, but lost Price Drop (as the digital multiplex that carried Price Drop was only being broadcast in Wales from the Wenvoe [SE Wales] transmitter. )

“The small number of affected customers who have purchased items from sit-up limited within the last few days are advised to refer to the company website, which will be updated with more information in the coming days.”

Interesting, the ITV bit, does anyone on here remember the shopping channel on On Digital / ITV Digital called Shop! (trading as The Home Shopping Channel Ltd)

That channel had links to ITV Digital too, I seem to recall that Stuart Prebble (Chief Exec of ITV Digital) was one of the directors of that channel, and guess what happened to Shop! and ITV Digital - yes, they both went into administration!

Jump to about 1:29 on this video link to see if it brings back memories for any of you

I remember Shop! very well, I bought our very first DVD player from them through an Interactive Application they had on Cable, we didn't have the internet back then :mysmilie_59:

Shop! was also something to do with Littlewoods as well as Granada and you often used to see the presenters out and about near their HQ in Old Hall Street in Liverpool, I saw Dave Bradford and Simon the Cook from QVC loads of times. The studio was in Albert Dock though, I think it was the one previously used by Richard & Judy.

It was actually quite a decent channel.

That made me laugh those dipsticks get through then don't even remember the word :mysmilie_15:

Feeling the loss of it tonight as for more years than I care to remember I'd switch over to Pete on a Saturday night and watch until they closed the doors at 1am and then 1:30 and on occasion 2am during the busier of the times of year.

Not sure if any of this has been mentioned before but here are some posts on the larger of the spies....

"It's not just Mike, none of the presenters have been paid since January"

Debbie Greenwood has said she was offered a new contract in February but turned it down.

I'm not defending anything, except the dedication and professionalism that you find elsewhere in the broadcast industry. Sit-up had a sense of creativity that didn't exist in other shopping channels.

It was actually quite a tight operation. The eventual demise is entirely down to the terms of trade, and how the competition has evolved, it does not reflect on how the company was operated.

Most places that you do work for / supply in the London broadcast sector have no idea of commercial reality. Sit up did. The things that screwed them weren't within their own control, but essentially driven by the external paradigm

LOL this 1 is aimed at me....I would however suggest psychiatric analysis for the person on that forum who said they have collected years worth of Bid & Price Drop broadcasts that they will now sit and watch again - I'm pretty sure there would be a fair number of people who would also like to see certain clips though in fairness

Someone also posted that on here years ago we used to laugh with the presenters and praise bid and price-drop a few years ago, then those posters left and these ones turned up. - not totally true, some of us have been here nigh on 10 years through the good times and the bad times, from the funny to the sad, not only to the cringy and the hilarious to the shocking and the down right odd.

I also want to share this with you which someone kindly posted http://cockshopping.webeden.co.uk/ I think we have found the perfect home for a certain someone who will remain not only nameless but it made me smile at ome

Now that is one statement that nobody, absolutely nobody, can disagree with. They were certainly creative, in fact they took the term 'Artistic Licence' to new levels.

But there seems to be a something of a detachment from reality in some of those posts but that dosen't surprise me. Not in the least.

It's clearly a case of 'blame everyone else but Sit-Up'. Deluded and arrogant to the end.

Since their was apparantly a lot of interest in the Sit-Up "soundtrack" that £1MegaDrop posted, so I've reuploaded it here:
http://files.ccowell.com/situp-music/

Share it around on other forums or anything, I don't really mind. I have the bandwidth to spare if they somehow get popular...

Thank you so much for doing this, I missed these files while they were available yesterday from the original link. You are a superstar. I am very grateful xxx

Could you imagine it though....coming up for your now on **** shopping here we have not only the larger and the thicker of (don't you dare at ome) the candles, not only with the wax, not only with the more flammable of the wicks, Our Bet likes a big 1 just ask the butcher or pop it in Pete, Now I love these not only in the bathrooms around not only the toilets and the windowsills, not only round the basins and on the sides of the bath, Not only in the hallways or the living rooms and these will go great with the newer of the **** shopping range of towels. now please don't forget to like **** shopping on facebook and the twitters and tell all your friends of the range of fantastic items coming up. Now out lease has been doing a fair bit of **** shopping this week haven't you lease?. Yes Pete now ladies we have the first ever sell of the **** fashion so just get it for yourself....Now I love this on you Lease it just shows off those curves and I love a curvy lady although when Our Bet comes down in her all in 1 winter combination on a morning and bends over the cooker its so tight a button could pop off at any moment and not only hit me in the face but i'd be mooned as I sit talking to the worry angels about HS2 but with this it just flows and you can see how much give these have ladies. Now ladies your going to be stopped in the streets with people asking is that a Valentino? Or Versace? Or the latest collection from the fashion houses of Armani or Chanel? Because the look the style not only the quality looks like those well known brands at a fraction of the price.

Mega, now I'm impassioned with this.

I've been dealing with this man for more years than I care to remember and I think he's made for **** Shopping.

But as the great man himself once said "It's the epitaph of Rome, it is the smell of the Armanis, it's the wonderful blue, it's the odysseys of the refinement of Davidoff". Surely someone can find a job for such an accomplished raconteur? :mysmilie_59:

Thanks for the clip of SHOP! That's the first shopping channel I really got "into", I was seriously GUTTED when it went. It was really entertaining, the p&p wasn't extortionate, the quality and variety of goods was great and you could open and account and pay for everything over three months interest free if you wished!..or longer with interest.
