A friend and her husband and me and my oh every year cook each other a dinner twice a year. They do us a xmas dinner in June, and we do them barbecue stuff in December, but it's not about that. Had the xmas dinner a couple of weeks back, she's a good cook, but dinner tasted a bit bland, especially the gravy. Reached for the salt and pepper, picked up black pepper first and ground a bit on, then picked up what I thought was the salt cellar only to notice it looked like another pepper pot, I said oh, I've got the pepper again, can someone pass the salt. Friend looked at me and said "We don't use salt in this house". Obviously it's a new health kick for them, but really? Do you think this slightly odd/bad form? I know it's up to them each to their own, but I think if it had been me I'd have bought a cheap pot of salt, lets face it, it' costs about 25p at the most to put on the table!
