If there is already a thread on this I am sorry but Oh my goodness put the flags out! I have just received an email saying my first ever waitlist item is in the way! I must have really wanted them as I have renewed the waitlist aand been waiting 6 months. I worried a bit (what on earth have I bought? Did I do it under the influence or in my sleep....?) Had to click the link to remind myself what it was-a pair of Eternal fluid drop earings. This is the only waitlist item I have ever been sent in over 10 years as a customer!

Congratulations. Has the price gone up for customers who did not waitlist? I've been successful on only one time in 2 years.

I have never received a wait list item either. I only used it for Yankee and L'Occitane but now would not bother because at the time, when I did a bit of checking half their inventories were on it. Also, a lot of the items were unlikely to be available again as they were not the current designs or scents or had been described as "when it is gone, it is gone". So I was a bit puzzled as to why they use wait list for these things. If they know that they are going to reorder an item and have a good chance of getting it, fair enough, but otherwise what is the point? I reckoned at the time that the YC inventory should have been about 80 rather than the 180+ they were showing.

They probably wait list items so that they can send out customer returns, also gauge the level of interest, perhaps get the supplier to send out new stock etc.

I have been on a wait list for the YC tart burner with the removable dish since it was TSV and get mad that when YC is on and they are airing the tarts they keep saying and showing "you may also like the electric tart burner" yes I would fecking like it but you don't have the stock you prats - Julia is the only one who has ever said it is not in stock "at the moment"
Stopped using wait list for anything which could be used and returned after the horror stories on here.

Given that they are sending out returns, I will never buy waitlist until they promise never to send out returned goods. If they value customers, they would not do this.
