Now that I've sorted out my tan accelerator (I opted for Gatineau as I spotted an eBay bargain, after being guided by the advice on here and the positive feedback on QVC)... I'm thinking about sunscreen.

Has anyone used Ultrasun? Again, most of the reviews are pretty good.

I want to try and ensure I don't burn on my hols, but I do want to get some colour. Shall I try it, or just stick with trusty Piz Buin?

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm never tried ultrasun, I think you can get it over the counter too can't you, so may save on the p&p. It seems very expensive to me altho the lady who presents it says it lasts all day. I'd always reapply anyway occasionally just to be safe. Unless people are really strong advocates of ultrasun, I'd say stick to what you know. The skin can react to all kinds of things when in a sudden diferent temperature & if PB agrees with you at least you know you won't get any adverse reactions.

I've used it and i am a sun worshiper who loves to tan. I tan very easily and even with the face 30 i still got a lovely colour but not as dark as i would go with the 20.
I applied it in the morning and was fine all day, no burning at all.

If you decide to go for it i've got one for sale in the drop if you're interested.

My DD went to Portugal last year armed with Ultrasun from me, and i told her to apply it during the day, and not listen to the once a
day thing, and she did this, but she got quite badly burnt. Had to spend rest of holidays inside and was very miserable, and boy did i
feel bad. Not used it myself, only in back garden, but i work in plastic surgery ward, and id seriously advise you to get factor 30 for
the start, and then decide if yu want to go lower, i wouldnt, but im paranoid about the sun, and i would also wear a floppy hat, QVC
actually do one that has factor round the rim, and i also gave my DD that, so how she got burnt i don;t know

I ordered some last year, it was great and the aftersun stuff is really good, you don't have to use a lot so it will last you longer.

I used it in Corfu and blistered after a morning in the sun. I still had blisters appearing when I got home a week later. I also used it at a festival in Yorkshire and burnt my arms and chest. Luckily I never go out in the sun without a hat and sunglasses so my face was fine.

The year before I used Piz Buin (as recommended on here) and was the only person by the pool who didn't burn!

I couldn't recommend Ultrasun to anyone, sorry.

Sorry mm i forgot to add that i.put it on at least half an hour before i went in the sun.

In my teens i used olive oi( Before i became sensible)l so this is virtually a sunblock for me.lol

I remember we used to use baby oil and my mum put coconut oil on her and we sat and sizzled and burnt and didn't realise the harm we were doing

Yep I remember my mum doing that too! When she ran out of baby oil or olive oil she used lard!! lol She was a natural red head, I'm surprised she never ended up in A&E with burn damage!
