Lee was asked what a netbook is. He replied it was like a laptop but smaller and without a DVD player.

A few seconds later, he said that you could pay £150 for a 10" screen DVD player for the car, and this netbook could do everything that that could and a lot more besides.

WRONG.

He had just explained it can't play DVD's!

Tripped himself up there didn't he? Also, a portable dvd player can be bought for less than £50, if that's all you want it to do. I do like the tsv, however, but as it doesn't have a disk drive - I'd call in but my questions never seem to get answered - how do you install your broadband when you activated it on the laptop with a cd-rom? Also, how about security? I use norton and instal it via cd-rom, do I have to pay more to download it? Obviouslyfafter the 12 month period of AVG expires.
Thanks.

You just plug them in and off they go I think!! You just set it to your wifi unit thingy!! You can tell I am very technical. I bought my netbook last year and this does look very good . I just think that maybe tablets are taking over as these don't have disc drives either.

I heard my mate Wigey Lee say that too> ha ha ha.
Where do QVC get these tech guys from?
They have them on a guest presenters, who represent companies like Acer and Click free and he comes out with a statement like that. He even said he was not tech savey, which is a strange thing to say when you job is to talk about the product and it's features.
Sorry to bring up his hairpiece again but you would think he would blend the rest of his hair to match the purple toupee he was wearing lastnight at midnight! Lol

Thanks.

the CD you get from your BB provider isnt needed. all that does is put a load of gubbins on your PC that are intended to tie you in to that particular provider. its a big fiddle. When you get your new netbook everything is all ready for you to link it up to your wifi. just click START , then CONNECT, locate your router from the list shown, enter your wireless key and bobs your cross-dressing auntie.

i bought the Samsung NC10 netbook from Q a couple of years ago and ive never needed a disc-driver for anything.

Looked at the TSV online and the reviews aren't that good to be honest and the TSV is about 10 months old..

Funny you should say about Lee's hair as a lady posted about it and asked if it was a wig on the QVC Facebook page at midnight...

Not quite the same as the PC World model has a smaller battery that last 4 hours - QVC have the 8 hour battery.

Thanks for that Burlz. I'm looking forward to it arriving. What I do like about QVC, even if you do pay more, you do so in the knowledge that you have that 30day MBG. I would just advise anyone not to enter any financial or personal data you don't want anyone to have access to, until you have decided to keep it.
Also, can I print wirelessly using this netbook? How do I register the netbook with the printer if I can't use a cd-rom?
Thanks in advance.

Some printers need connecting wirelessly to the router first, and some get their wireless network settings from the computer/laptop/netbook whatever via a USB cable when prompted.

So, download the latest drivers from t'interweb first and save them on your netbook. Follow the printers instructions to see how it connects wirelessly then install the new driver and follow its instructions.

HTH, Rich
