Did anyone else’s family refer to left over food or a frugal meal as “orts”? I’ve never heard anyone use the term since.

Another one of my mum's gems was "You sound like a pig eating cinders" when someone was crunching their food loudly.

How about this one? I think it was made up by my brother. When he used to complain about me, as brothers do, he'd say I was a blatzel. A favourite way of his saying it was Anthony Blatzel Blatzel. It seems it's a real word. Just had a quick look. But I didn't know that til now, as I write.
