it doesn't really matter what they call it if they give you the actual measurement. bring back the qvc tape measure i say. julia has always been best at giving measurements - there should be no need to say that. i would have thought it was obvious they should all do it. jewellery too - would have saved me the aggro of the bracelet saga.

I absolutely agree Janie, but need to add that where outer garments are concerned they should tell us what the internal measurements are and not just the external measurement - the filling in the coat can often take the valuable inches I need for my own built in filling

I bought Diane Gilman jeans a while ago in a size 10 ~ Apart from being hideous, I could have fitted two of me in one leg! Their sizing is way off.
