Stacey Ellis to join The Jewellery Channel

Stacey will broadcast her maiden show at the Jewellery Channel on Friday 5th February. woohoo! i'm quite happy to see her here actually, although i am a big fan of R&C i feel stacey is making a smart move in sticking with shopping telly, and aswell as that- she's in her element- big rhapsody rocks all round!

I agree with you Graham. Can't be easy changing from one format to another TJC and Rocks are very different. As for the sniffing maybe she's got a cold or maybe she's nervous. Haven't really noticed it.

I don't mind Stacey at all really - I think she comes across as quite sweet. Maybe her presenting style will adapt slightly in a new and different environment ... at least she won't be saying "Cherry pie" anymore.

Well, I have to say that I think she is much better in the TJC environment.

Been watching for about 10 minutes or so now and have not heard her sniff once!

Damn ... spoke to soon! Just heard a little sniff-ette just as I was about to hit "post" ... bless her, she sounds like she's got a cold

I must admit I was a fan of Stacey Ellis when she was at rocks and co, but now seeing her for the 1st time on TJC I am so far at least not to impressed - she sounds like she is bunged up with a cold. Either she does have a cold in which case somebody should send her a vicks sinex as a valentines day gift :mysmilie_61: or the microphone at TJC simply picks up her adenoidal type sounds more than when she was at rocks and co. Also I notice she is a bit more, how shall I put it, boring :mysmilie_81: on TJC compared to her days on rocksandco, she seems not to have as much sparkle and not so much of her character is coming out of her at TJC, maybe it will do in time, but as it stands I wont be rushing to TJC to see her in the near future.

I think to be honest the format is very different at TJC, it's a much faster with more jewellery to show. The R& C format was one piece and push it hard. So things are going to be different for both John and her. Don't forget there was also a lot of banter between the crew and the presenter on R&C and from what I can make out there is no crew at the jewellery channel. My Husband tells me the camera is probably controlled from "the gallery". I watched for a couple of minutes last night, and it was very obvious the girl has a cold, and I don't know about you, but I certainly wouldn't feel very chirpy if I was working at 10 - 2 on a Sunday night in February full of cold......at least her nose wasn't red !!

Yes we must be thankful for small mercies (ie no red nose!). Yes I agree , a cold and working at that time of night wouldnt bring out the best in her.

I also think you are right, TJC probably use remote controlled cameras. It must be a somewhat lonely life at TJC if the presenters are on their own in the studio setting. :mysmilie_81: And yes you are right, rocksandco (with banter :mysmilie_701 is completely different from the TJC format (ie no banter to speak of ). Even rocksanco these days has no banter between the crew, partly I reckon because they dont have many people working for them since they moved north.
