My Sbc gel just arrived , Very pleased with it , Thanks Q :mysmilie_14:

We'll done everyone who managed to get it, thanks for posting Autumn, gutted I missed it

It's just turned up. Considering we got it dirt cheap, not too bad of a delivery time really. 2 working days. Why can't they manage that with all deliveries?

Okay, so it's turned up. I only bought it because it was a bargain, so what the hell do I do with it????

Lol MM.

I use it as a very quick body lotion as it goes on so fast. Also use on my face under moisturiser instead of serum :)

Mine arrived today. The last 500ml took 2 years to use. Wonder how long this lot will last. I cant see a date on the bottle anywhere the last one had 24 months on it.

Since getting the confirmation Email saying this set was on its way ive been using more collagen everyday as my current 500ml bottle is from the SBC tsv in late 2013. Ive been using it on my face for the first time and over the last few days, ive seen a massive different in pore size and smoothness, even though i have oily/ sensitive skin so would have never thought about using Collagen gel on my face before, glad i did now :D

After reading your post Autumn I think I'll get my Collagen gel from the back of a cupboard where it has been languishing and give it another go. I've been using Propolis gel twice a day under my moisturiser and it has cleared up psoriasis irritation on my face, so will try this maybe at night and see how I get on. Do you use it on it's own or under your moisturiser?

Ive been using it alone after toning, Sometimes i mix a little with either Aloe vera gel or Propolis , but the last 2 days ive just been using the Collagen gel alone. I haven't felt the need to use a moisturiser on top as i put a generous amount on, but perhaps if you have a drier skin you made need to. But give it a try :)

Thanks for the quick reply Autumn, I'll mix the two gels together to start with and will see how it goes.I don't have really dry skin since using the Propolis gel and anything that cuts down the skin care expense is good in my book, so will see if I really need a moisturiser in a couple of weeks.

Funnily enough, I have been doing the same with the remainder of my 2 year old bottle. On day 4 my face has had enough though and I have had to add a moisturiser as my skin is now flaky. Will try using the gel in the morning and Judith Williams cream in the evening. JW cream now has a slightly rancid smell. It is probably about 12 months old and I have been decanting 50ml at a time from the 150ml pot. We did have a hot summer so that might be the problem.

Has anyone noticed an increase in redness after using any of the gels on their face?

Just wondered as the alcohol content is pretty high - the gels don't so much sink in as evaporate. I won't be parted from my arnica, but this year is the first I've tried the gels on my face and I've stopped now since I've noticed a dramatic increase in redness and increased sensitivity.

I know Paula Begoun isn't a fan of alcohols in skincare and reading her ingredients directory has sort of worried me about future damage.

Never had any problems with the gels on my skin , and my skin can be very sensitive. They also sink straight in , i think SBC is a very underrated brand on Q.

I only use a small blob of the collagen gel in the morning underneath my moisturiser. At night I use the propolis underneath my AD Synergy oil and haven`t had any issues with either. I have sensitive skin and the gels don`t irritate at all but I don`t think they`re enough on their own but are more of a base IMO.

Thanks for your replies.

It's not that my face gets irritated when the gels go on, or even during days/weeks after. I have, however, been having bouts of irritation/sensitivity that I can't pin down to any one thing and just wondered... I suppose I'm just getting a bit paranoid after reading this: http://www.paulaschoice.com/cosmetic-ingredient-dictionary/definition/absorbent/alcohol

The collagen ingredients are (if anyone's interested): http://www.sbcgels.co.uk/Skincare-Collections/collagen-collection/collagen-skincare-gel#.VDcJ5ildVx0

Please don't get me wrong, I love the gels and the arnica gets slapped on several times a day, the propolis a few times a week and both work remarkably well for the conditions I use them. But, since reading the PC stuff and doing my own mini research about the products evaporating v sinking in (unscientific, granted, but the gels can't sink into glass, yet they disappear. Hence my remark about them evaporating), I'm starting to err on the side of caution with usage on my face.

And, yes, I'm sounding like I'm contradicting myself here, but the propolis and arnica (particularly the arnica) must obviously be "sinking in" enough to work as the pain relief I get with the arnica works in minutes after being slapped on (I can't bear it being rubbed in).

I'm extremely grateful to have been rec'd the arnica here as it makes an enormous difference for me. When I'm in pain I take painkillers, but they take 20-25 minutes to kick in. The arnica works in minutes for me, dulling down the pain quicker than prescription gels and I can use whenever I need it. So, a big thanks to all those who've sung it's praises and made me try it (even though I'm having a bit of a moan ).

I think skincare is all about personal choice, what works for one doesn't work for all , I think you need to find out what is causing the irritation / sensitivity, perhaps try not using the gels for a week or so and see if theres any difference, if none then change other parts of your routine, Depending on what cleanser your using , i often find thats what irritates my skin the most,
