The only kids show I know that has that in the title is Jamie and the Magic Torch. And, I thought so. There's a song from way back, I love me, I love me, I'll marry me some day, I'll take me to the church yard and give myself away. (That's from memory, so if the words are wrong..... it's the idea)

Torchy the Battery Boy was a children's programme from the late '50's. He was a puppet with large saucer eyes, and I gave Yannis the Torchy name because he reminded me of the character.
