I have to say that as a presenter Clarkson is pretty good.
Much better than the previous condescending burke that was Chris Tarrant.
This episode recent revelation was that Clarkson doesn't know that a 'hump day' is the office colloquial slang for Wednesday, the middle of the working week. He'd never heard of it. This a man who's worked as a journalist for 40 odd years, worked in offices all that time.
Also has no clue about web, computers, algorithms.
And some idiot play University awarded him an honorary Engineering doctorate. Rescind it!
Nor did he know that Red Red Wine was a Neil Diamond song originally. But he did know Nothing Compares To You was a Prince song originally.

Creepy Tarrant; did you notice he was always a bit too touchy-feely with the female contestants, hugging, a bit too close and long.

Re Wednesday my wife knew and I guessed correctly.
I guessed the Web browser question correctly.
Wife guessed the music correctly I didn't really know.
We were both surprised how crap both the later contestants were, especially the GP bloke.
As regards Tarrant being creepy, I can't really remember, as we both hated the sight of him and very rarely watched for any length of time.

We 'probably' weren't traumatised coz 'we' were the ones who for the most part would put ourselves, in varying degrees, in those situations. I did some silly things, but nothing 'dangerous' to myself or others, but there were things I did back then I wouldn't do now, or let a child of mine do now (if I had one). Go walking to a quarry the long way round on a hot day that took me through villages that were out of the way, cycling when it was getting dark and having to share my mate's front bike lamp and he the back and ride in tandem. Cycle like maniacs without hands on a quite road and venturing central to see a car coming towards me :p Did I say I did nothing dangerous? Well, I'm still here, so it couldn't have been that bad :p
And the fantastic Donald Pleasence

‘I am the spirit of dark and lonely water….’
Properly scared me, that did!

I remember the one about the boy who died in the grain silo! Cybermen were my constant worry as a child. Well that and quicksand, which never really became a problem in Belfast.
That’s so true! From that, and watching Tarzan and the like, I thought quicksand was going to be rather more of a problem when I grew up than it has (so far) proved…
🤣🤣

Is anyone else on here today. Last post was by me at 12.28am (apart from last one)
You're right it has been a bit quiet on here of late.
The shopping telly site sends me an email everyday with details of posts made from different threads.
I bin them quite quickly but it keeps them in a binned folder for 30 days, so I have checked that.
During most of February it would appear to be 80 - 90 posts a day on this thread.
Since the beginning of this month with a few exceptions, there have been quite a few less, only 17 a few days ago.
Quite why this is so, is hard to say. It could be to do with the slightly improving weather and longer days we are all doing something else.
Personally, I'm not tending to have IW on even in the background as I'm pretty fed up with the crappy presenters, crappy stuff, the lies and the 🐂💩.
Having said that, this thread seems to get the most posts of all on the site.

It’s got quieter since Duke left.

And as Beauty and Fashion as a woman who has always been a Tomboy, who wears trackbottoms and Tshirts, and a simple Soap and Water washer, Beauty and Fashion doesn’t interest me especially.

I’d rather Tech Days, but Tech seems to be a thing from the past now

Agreed. And Duke leaving has also had an effect. If you’re reading at all, Duke, - come back!

TBH, I just can't really be bothered watching at the moment. The same old products seem to be done to death, even the new garden programmes on a Sunday I find uninteresting. Since Duke stepped back from this Forum, something has been missing for me. I still chip in from time to time, but it's not the same. A certain poster has a lot to answer for.

Saintslad isn’t Peter by the way, I Messaged him once when Peter was on to see if I got a response.

He is a guy in his 50s, who supports Southampton Football Club, hence the name
