Oh, saintslad - you really are a curious little thing, aren’t you? Always suggesting that us on the Forum simply turn the other cheek/channel to/from I.W yet you yourself repeatedly visit us here, where our points of view clearly antagonise you. Can’t you see the irony?
Cheers - here to stay. For the long rung personally.

There s a block button.

"Made" sounds better than assembled.

Very few watches are say 100% from the country they are assembled/made in, even low to mid level Swiss watches, many have the cases/bracelets/packaging bought in from China, and it's only movement & assembly (testing/regulating etc) that's Swiss, it's only when you get to the luxury/high end luxury sector of the market, ie Rolex where they make every part of their watches themselves in Switzerland at five large factories they own.

As for Lithuania & Vostok Europe, although parts will come from a variety of countries (Movements - Japan/Malaysia, Case/bracelet/glass/packaging - China etc) it's all designed, assembled, tested, regulated etc in Lithuania by Vostok Europe themselves.
While VE watches aren't everyone's taste (suit folks with big wrists) & Kevski/Ideal World's sales tactics are poor, the watches themselves are decent quality, sturdy with well known reliable movements (Seiko/Citizen), just a shame they've picked IW as a retailer to use.

Contrast VE with say Christophe Duchamp, Swan & Edgar, Gamages, those brands only order from a catalogue, they do sod all themselves.
Thanks. I know, but why would I want 'Lithuania' on the label.

Nothing against Lithuania, Lithuanians, VE or Igor, but showing off my VE watch and someone seeing 'Made in Lithuania' is not exactly a ringing endorsement of quality or something to show off or shout about!

I'd rather it said England, or Japanese or Europe, if not Swiss. Or nothing at all!

Remember everything used to say Made in Japan. Then it was Made in Taiwan. Now it's Made in China.
But from what I hear Made in Cambodia (like a recent coat purchase of mine) to get around the US trade tariffs, is the next one.

Excellent! So you understand us, then? People who repeatedly engage with something that consistently annoys them. See? We’re not so different after all!

On that basis, you can stop telling us to turn off/shut up/press ‘block’ etc because you know EXACTLY why we’re here. We’re simply ALL a bunch of numpties who derive some perverse pleasure from being annoyed 😀

The only difference seems to be that my ‘side’ likes a jolly good laugh, at both ourselves AND the buffoons at I.W! You on the other hand, seem so lacking in humour and as pursed as a monkey’s bum. C’mon, lighten up, big guy 😘

I've no idea what Saintslad said because I block him/her/they. I just see a post with the words 'you are ignoring this member'. And if they respond with an insult to me I can't see it so I don't care! I just see all your humorous responses😊

A great Ideal World safe........great for burglars that is - all the goodies in one place and highly portable too. 😆

When you think about it, this is nearly always going to be the unavoidable part of sales, whether selly telly or otherwise. The salesperson is there to SELL the product, so very rarely (and never on selly telly!) are we going to have salespeople saying 'to be honest mate, don't buy it, it's sh1te!!!' unless they're maybe working their last few days and couldn't give a feck :)

So in that context you're right, they can't be trusted, everything they sell is wonderful ... apparently.
It's the outright woppers I object to, and the treating viewers as though they're stupid. The old saying applies - don't mind anyone thinking I'm stupid, but don't ever treat me as though I'm stupid.

You're absolutely right, salespeople are there to sell or they'll be out on their ear PDQ, but I think there is a line you don't cross. By all means point out the usages and advantages of the thing you're flogging and tell people how to buy, whether you've tried the product yourself, etc. but implying that something cures everything from malaria to a spot on your nose - and even worse, mentioning much more serious issues - is out of order in my book. They shouldn't go there, as many people live with certain conditions every single day of their lives and it's not only dishonest to be economical with the truth, it's disrespectful and completely lacking in integrity.

Okay get your question now.

The Lithuanian name on the dial has nothing to do with quality, show off or shout about, it's all about Identity/Country of origin/politics to avoid connection with another similar sounding brand (Vostok) from another country (Russia). ;)

Although Vostok Europe have been going for twenty odd years, many folks still get confused and assume/think they are connected with The Vostok brand (Russia) which they are not. Especially with the war in Ukraine, VE are just making sure folks know they ain't Vostok and they are most definitely not Russian.

VE have sold two charity watches in aid of Ukraine, last one was a limited edition of 200, which sold out in days and raised approx £60,000 to buy field medical kits for the Ukrainian front lines.

Pedro in full collagen mode...😃
Considering he was on children's TV he's not very knowledgeable about where Trumpton is🤣. It's down the road from Chigley and Camberwick Green.

I think one evening we should text in with one of these names : Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grubb. I think I might be Mrs. Honeyman from Camberwick Green. Which one of you is volunteering to be Windy Miller?🤣🤣🤣

Or we could be The Banana Splits, Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper or Snorky. I loved that programme!

Or Kermit, Fozzy Bear, Miss Piggy, Statler and Warldof. The list is endless!
