Dr Jezza with his typically pushy sales patter.

He has a "gorgeous" projector coming up. It's ABSOLUTELY brilliant - but he's not allowed to sell it until after 11pm :ROFLMAO:

Yes, it's the same one with the output that looks like ghosts on the wall.
It must be in the "unsaleable" corner of the warehouse with the Gammon and zinc pants.

I notice they choose not to demonstrate it any longer. I wonder why????

Beating Amazon, he crows…Are they?

Nothing wrong with the watches at the right price.

The problem is with the brand and IW sales tactic. The brand pretend to have Swiss Origins, they don't, they started 4 years ago in Woking.

They are not a watchmaking brand, they don't even design the watches, just a couple of folks in an office in the UK getting their watches from an Independent watchmaker in Mendrisio.

This is a picture from Duchamp web site of the facility in Mendrisio where they calim the brand originated before moving to the UK, kinda infers it's their facility or they are/were based there (none of it is true).

This is how the building actually looks like, NO Duchamp sign

The watchmaker they order their watches from have facilities in Switzerland and The Far East, some of Duchamp watches are Swiss Made but about half their range is made in the Far East.

Their RRPs are fictious nonsense, bear absolutely no relevance to the quality of the watches they are selling.

The Audace is just a copy of a Roamer watch (made in the same facility) with Duchamp branding, Roamer Primeline, Audace has an RRP of £3000, Primeline has a RRP of £700.
Roamer a Swiss brand have a history & Heritage dating back to 1888, Dechamp is 4 year old UK brand.
Thanks Hammy. So that building with the Duchamp sign must be a photoshop job?
And ‘some’ of them are Swiss made?
Still a little confusing for me,a mere mortal. I am certainly not trying to defend Duchamp (far from it especially with all that ott sales patter).

You are saying they are decent watches but the ‘same’ watch under a different brand name can be bought at a cheaper price?
It’s really interesting to me how these companies work. So difficult to trust anyone these days..especially sales presenters on IW…but maybe, just maybe they believe what they are told.

So if they are selling at around £600 for a watch at what sort of price is fair in order for a small profit margin?

Yours,

Trevor’s Mom

Now now Hammy come on, you don't seriously expect IW to let little things like FACTS get in the way of a sale, do you?

;)

“WE LIKE TO REACT TO OUR VIEWERS NEEDS.” Some of these ‘Needs’ being? -

Continual unsourced price comparisons. Not comparing like with like on these
Failure to regularly explain the Returns Policy
Exaggerating the value of some watches by quoting manufacturer’s RRPs. Failing to explain that these RRPs can be reduced significantly by using external discount codes.
1970s double entendres humour
Providing batteries that can be bought cheaper elsewhere
Offering meat-named perfume. Or is that perfumed-named meats?
Presenters feigning effected limps to sell plastic canes…
Not shaving scruffy Edwardian beards off - and that’s just the women..

Hope you don't mind but I tweaked part of your post ;)

Now what did he just say as I was leaving? Something to the effect of ‘If I didn’t tell you what perfumes these are a tribute to, you wouldn’t recognise the smell.’ You know…the same product that is meant to smell just like the expensive versions. He has either contradicted himself completely, or he is inadvertently suggesting the people likely to buy wouldn’t know a top fragrance smell if it fell on them?
